Assuming it's not, I'm still not totally sure I'm comfortable putting down a deposit and not withdrawing. It would be a disaster if all schools withdrew their offers...I may end up asking.
Just call and ask, don't say your name or anything. They will tell you. Be sure and get the persons name you talk to though.
They could always check your number, so use Skype and you'll be entirely anonymous.
...or drive to another state and find a pay phone at an out-of-the-way spot just to be really safe. Seriously, even if you called from your own phone and identified yourself, I don't think the fact that you have a big scholly at another T14 that you're considering taking will hurt your chances at HLS. It might even make you seem like a more desirable applicant and increase them.
My post was about calling Northwestern and asking about the requirements to accept the scholarship, not calling HLS>

haha yeah I see that now...I was more responding to the other guy who was suggesting going to trouble to hide one's identity. I guess my overall point is that schools know many of their applicants are considering other schools, so I doubt it would hurt someone's standing with an admissions office even if they were open about their identity when they called to ask questions like this.

Thought I'd pass along this info: I just called the admissions office, and they said additional LORs can be through LSAC or postal mail. Applicant updates can be postal mail or email IF the content is in the body of the email (no PDFs). No faxes.

HTH.

Anyone hear about JR1s in the past month. Is it me or has there been no activity aside from a few new additions to the hold crew?

There was plenty of activity after 2/26 (a big 3/8 batch of acceptances), there just hasn't been much lately. What he said then about there being plenty of spots open probably doesn't hold true after the 3/8 batch IMO.

Hi all,

Is the hold e-mail showing up as anything under "Mailings" on your status checker? I could have sworn it was there before, but maybe this wait has just pushed me over the brink.

So if we were held in January and have heard nothing I guess it's safe to assume we are out? So sad. I really really wanted it.

Damn. Well one can still hope I suppose. I wonder when the rejection will come in?

I would think a WL is still a definite possibility...

I haven't ruled out the possibility for a JR1.....even a waitlist would be okay. Harvard wait list has been kind to AA URM's in the past

I would take a WL...who knows you could get lucky. Uggg it's just on the one hand I'm ready for the cycle to be over but on the other getting a harvard rejection kind of kills that little glimmer in my soul.

I still haven't gotten notice that they've received my withdrawal...I'm now playing the "withdrawal or waitlist, which will happen first" game.

So to clarify: Harvard won't take e-mailed withdrawals, you have to send a snail mail letter?

Correct. Seems stupid, given that they themselves email decisions but there you have it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
