Re: T14 $$$ decisions / release dates
Is there an FAQ on the named scholarships somewhere? (Because, not gonna lie, I have no idea what you're talking about with Darrows, Butlers, etc.)

Fairish question though. I just wanted to try that out.

I remember that some on TLS got invites to apply for the dean's scholarship at Cornell, with their acceptances. Perhaps you can update that, crackberry?

As someone who got that invite, I can share that the deadline for the application (it's a 500-word essay) is due on February 12th and that the scholarships will be awarded in March. It's a $120K scholarship, btw.ankit wrote:I remember that some on TLS got invites to apply for the dean's scholarship at Cornell, with their acceptances. Perhaps you can update that, crackberry?

Bump. We still up to date here? I know Chicago will be soon. What about Penn, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell and GULC?

When I turned in my Deans Scholarship essay they said they will start announcing "in a few weeks". GULC told me they are meeting this week and next to make scholarship decisions. Duke said should be in the next two weeks.crackberry wrote:Bump. We still up to date here? I know Chicago will be soon. What about Penn, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell and GULC?

Thanks for the info. When I spoke to GULC a couple months ago they were unsure whether scholarships would be automatically awarded to some people after the committee met, or if they would invite qualified applicants to apply. Did they give you any more details? I would be so thrilled to get a scholarship at Georgetown.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:When I turned in my Deans Scholarship essay they said they will start announcing "in a few weeks". I asked Gtown about this during ASW - they took my name / e-mail down and told me they will start the process some time in February (so it sounds like they're probably doing it now).js87 wrote:Bump.js87 wrote:Thanks for the info. I asked Chicago yesterday - they said the committee is meeting this week and might be sending out letters by Friday (2/12), although the admissions rep said that's not a guarantee.

Funny, their financial aid director said it would be either last Friday or today. I hope they don't take too long.bottomshelf wrote:

Re: T14 $$$ decisions / release dates
received from Duke today:
Thank you for submitting your scholarship application form to Duke Law School. I'm writing to give you an update on our scholarship selection process.
First, thank you for your patience. Our Scholarship Committee has taken some extra time to carefully analyze the resources that will be available for the incoming class, in order to offer the most generous awards possible to those who qualify. This work is now complete. A number of scholarship decisions were made today, and many more will be issued in the next few weeks. We are working on applications in the order that they were received and expect to notify everyone who has already submitted an application by the end of this month.
Scholarship notifications will be sent via U.S. mail, but you can track when the mailing is made through Duke's online status checker. ('Scholarship decision mailed' will appear under 'Mailings' as soon as the decision letter has been sent to you.)
Thank you again for your patience during this important process!
Best regards,

Not sure about Chicago. NU will began considering merit scholarships in March. NU asked those of us who want to be considered for merit money to submit a couple of essays by March 1.crackberry wrote:Bump.

Re: T14 $$$ decisions / release dates
Can you elaborate on the scholarship essays for Northwestern? Were the essays only for full-ride scholarships, or to be considered for ANY merit scholarship? I don't recall hearing from them about essays being required for merit schollys (was admitted the first day they started accepting regular decision candidates)

There's an online application that you have to do, I think they sent out an email with the link about a week or two ago. As far as I could tell, you have to do the essays in order to be considered for any merit scholarships.poprox wrote:Can you elaborate on the scholarship essays for Northwestern? Thanks! I just went back and looked at it, I actually did both of those essay questions on the supplemental form, totally slipped my mindhiro86 wrote:There's an online application that you have to do, I think they sent out an email with the link about a week or two ago.
