Arizona 2010?
Has anyone heard from (U of) Arizona? I have been complete for close to two months now. According to LSN, some heard back as early as Nov last cycle. Am I missing something here?

Re: Arizona 2010?
I actually called their admissions on Monday. My status has been complete since December 9th, and I wanted to see if they could tell me when things might start rolling. The woman I spoke to was very nice, she put me on hold for a bit and came back to tell me that the adcomm had my application at that very moment, and I should know by Wednesday.
She also said that if your status is "complete", it means it's under review.

I have been complete since 9/21 and that was the last time I heard anything from anyone. I was beginning to forget they existed. Does anyone know how they do decisions? E-mail/ phone/ mail?
Here is to hoping someone will hear something today

Re: Arizona 2010?
I don't think they send decisions very quickly. I was in contact with their admissions office, waiting to hear back from them before I submitted my application. They took a while to get back to me (ie not until December) in their last email, they assured me that it was still very early in the decision process, and that I was at no disadvantage submitting my application when I did.
Their email says most decisions are made between January and April. I don't expect to hear back any time soon.

Hell, my mind will be made up by April. Some of these schools are shooting themselves in the foot by not getting their decisions made earlier in the cycle.

Re: Arizona 2010?
I have actually stopped referring to last cycle on LSN, only because many of the schools I applied to seem to be waiting a bit longer this year to get the ball rolling.Eisaiahm wrote:Has anyone heard from (U of) Arizona? In general, I think that Arizona just moves a bit slowly. Example: I sent in a fee waiver request in mid October and finally was notified that it was approved in early December. This slowness has caused Arizona to slink off my radar, but I'm sure that once decisions finally start coming I'll be more diligent with the status checker.

I applied ED in in late October, but was rolled over to regular admissions. It doesn't look like anyone on else on LSN made it in ED though because there still aren't any acceptances from this cycle.

Re: Arizona 2010?
The admissions woman told me to try calling back today, and I did- found out some interesting things. First, they said that once it says complete, it goes under review at some point; however, the status checker never actually says "in review" or anything like that (which is sort of odd). Second, apparently the dean has been sick, and has a lot of the files with him at his house, so they are pretty much waiting on him. They thought he would be back today with some decisions, but alas, he was not.
Anyway, hoping for something by next week.

Mine's blank too, but it's been that way since they deferred me to regular admissions.sckon wrote:My status checker went blank today...?

Anyone know anything about the advantage (or not) that Arizona residency plays in UA admissions?

Not a whole lot. Borderline it might. I think by law they have to admit a certain percentage. Kind of like Texas.

Being a resident of Arizona, and Tucson specifically will certainly boost your application, but don't think you can get in with a 2.0 GPA and 120 LSAT.
