Temple Part time program
Has anyone applied to Temple’s Part time evening program? If so, have you heard anything yet via status checker?

Re: Temple Part time program
I applied to both full time and part time. I went complete on 11/24 and am still not under review.

I went complete on 11/23/09 and am still waiting, I guess what I am wondering is if they do their full time program first and then part time.

Re: Temple Part time program
I applied PT and haven't heard anything yet. I went complete 10/30 then they updated 12/21. I guess that means it's under review starting 12/21???
I would really love to hear this week since they're numero uno for me and I've heard back just about everywhere else.

To my knowledge, they first review you for full time. If you don't qualify, they stick you in the part-time stack. I'm assuming they have two committees, one for FT and one for PT.Doreen210 wrote:I went complete on 11/23/09 and am still waiting, I guess what I am wondering is if they do their full time program first and then part time.

I was accpeted in the first wave of admissions in December and I am PT evening division. SO just based on me, it looks like they go by completion date...which was mid October for me.

Was your preference FT or PT? Mine was part time, so I wonder how they will evaluate me...beach_terror wrote:To my knowledge, they first review you for full time. WL for FT, they didn't go to the waitlist at all last year, so I guess you could call that a WL/reject.NJPharmD2011 wrote:Was your preference FT or PT? Just got this in an email...what the hell? This basically means I'm not in the day program, right?
I am writing to you regarding the status of your application to the fall 2011 entering class at Temple University Beasley School of Law. The Admissions Committee has completed an initial review of your file and they have asked me to contact you to determine if you would be willing to accept a seat in the evening division if we were unable to offer you a seat in the day division.

I've never heard of this happening before...usually the other way around. Is Temple your top choice?abbykz wrote:Just got this in an email...what the hell? This basically means I'm not in the day program, right?

Yes. I do not plan to work during law school, so I would have little to no interest in doing a night program, but if it meant going there, I'd consider it slightly.

I believe you can take one "day" class per semester and transfer between the evening and day program once the first 1.5 years of the evening program are completed.abbykz wrote:Yes. When you applied, did you select both day and evening and then put day as your preference (that is what I did except I put evening as my preference)? Maybe that is why they are offering you evening?

No just day. Do you think this means I'm not in the day program? I really have no interest in going the night program unless it meant me not getting in at all...

Re: Temple Part time program
I think that means you aren't in the day program...but I would ask in the other Temple thread b/c there are some current students who look at that who might have better insight. What are your stats?abbykz wrote:No just day. Do you think this means I'm not in the day program? I really have no interest in going the night program unless it meant me not getting in at all...
Also I'm not sure if the program taking 4 vs 3 years is what you don't like about the evening program, but there are ways to finish in 3.5. I plan on working during the day part-time so that is why I want to do the evening program, but I hope to finish in 3.5 years

Re: Temple Part time program
Yeah, Temple is high on my list of schools and I applied PT evening. Would love to be able to attend; heard they're pretty stingy with money though in the other thread. That will probably weigh heavily on my decision.NJPharmD2011 wrote:I think that means you aren't in the day program...but I would ask in the other Temple thread b/c there are some current students who look at that who might have better insight. Re: Temple Part time program
Yeah I am basically anticipating no money...but I would rather get work experience during school than getting scholarship and going full-time. But I wouldn't consider Temple with no scholarship if I didn't expect to get instate residency within the first 2 years...TT09 wrote:Yeah, Temple is high on my list of schools and I applied PT evening. Re: Temple Part time program
I should add that I think this is a reaction to my father's contact with the admissions office. He is an active alumni of the law school and spoke with the Dean's office yesterday. My HOPE is that my application hasn't been reviewed completely, but they wanted to offer me a position in the night program if would be something I wanted to do....
I'm now just irritated and stressed out because I do not want to do part time and now I'm just sitting here updating the application status.
*fingerscrossed*
