I got this email too! This is the first I've heard of a program like this. Does this mean that, we could hypothetically know by the end of next week? Or early the week after, if they only count business days? Crazyyy
They count weekends too, FYI :D

i would apply right now, except it's too bad my PS is in shambles
Ditto, except mine is basically nonexistent.

The more people we get on the train, the more competition. So Booo Stanford!! (jk but really I love you with the fire of 1000 suns)
I like Stanford but it's such an intangible dream vision for me... :(

UVA? But when you get a JS1 you will feel bad for turning your back on HLS

I believe the perfect mix is 2 academic and 1 solid work lor.

UVA! TLS house!
YES TLS HOUSE WITH TLS DOGS!!!
Every person in the TLS house must have at least one dog. Said dogs must also be decent at softball fetching.
The mascot will be bringing a mascot dog as well, guaranteed! Although, I'd like to think of myself as just the leader, not the cheerleader.

I'm in a bind with my LORs. I have some professors that will write one for me, but I'm not sure they will be all that great. I already have one work lor that I know is very good* and one very strong LOR* from a State Congresswoman that I interned for for year and maintain a strong relationship with. I know it's advisable to have an academic LOR, but I'm not too thrilled about a mediocre lor (I've been away from undergrad for awhile, and while I got A's was fairly quiet in class). Not really sure what to do.

*I obviously haven't seen them, but both are very intelligent, well spoken, and think highly of me.

I'd roll with them if they are credited and think highly of you.

That makes sense, thanks! For those schools who have a maximum of 2 letters (I've noticed this for UCLA, I'm not sure if it applies to other schools on my list), I assume using 2 academic is the best choice, right?
I think so. Schools really emphasis they want academic, so I think if you have to only do two I would do two academic. Maybe unless one is pretty weak and your employment one is super strong.

I think sometimes it can be ok, but everything I have seen says schools REALLY want an academic letter. I would be really cautious before I didn't include one.

Yeah, I'm going to ask on the Spivey thread, but I'm torn. It would be nice to keep the LOR from the Congresswoman for scholarships that require a LOR.

Thanks for the advice folks. I think I'm going to ask for one from the prof I had the most classes with, and submit with my two other LORs. Thanks y'all!
