Called the registrar after some TLS-ers made me. Told me that sections are scheduled to come out Friday.

Friday as in "schollys come out Friday" or like, actual Friday. Please let's hope the latter.

Are class syllabi released along with section information? If not, how soon after?

WHAT TIME ON FRIDAY?

But really, I'm wearing flip flops at work, I have nothing else to live for.

Has anybody bought their parking pass yet? Do we just get the typical yellow pass online, or do we get one at orientation? I don't want to buy a $515 pass and have it be the wrong one...

It's not a law school specific parking pass - it's the normal yellow one.

Thanks! That's what I assumed, but I wanted to make sure.

Just got my parking permit in the mail. This is a legit high quality permit. Well worth the price.

What do you guys think about the sustainability movement on campus? Apparently bottled water is banned cause it is bad for the environment. Parking permits are supposedly more expensive than supply and demand would dictate in order to have less people drive. My undergrad banned meal trays because of the soap and water needed to wash them. I have no problem with recycling or other measures...but to be honest this other stuff scares me a bit.

Besides from every trashcan being attached to a recycling bin, I have never noticed any "sustainability" features. I bring a bottled water everyday and the vending machines sell bottled sodas/waters, so they definitely aren't banned. I didn't know about the parking passes, but there while there are always extra spots there aren't a lot of them, especially if you get to school after 11AM or so. Our bathrooms have paper towels instead of hand dryers.

If you want to be environmentally conscious the school definitely makes it easy to do so, but it is by no means forced upon anybody.

Bottled water actually isn't sold on campus, I don't think any of the vending machines sell them. I remember at graduation the bottles had a label printed on them that was more or less, "Even though we normally don't do this whole bottled water thing, it's hot as hell out here and you are gonna want this." I usually just pay ten or twenty cents or whatever it is for a water cup in the cafeteria.

As for parking permits, I just winged it and didn't pay for one, and every year my total in parking tickets was less than the $500 or whatever outrageous sum they charge. In fact, I'm not even sure they ever charged me for the tickets. I didn't pay them and I don't think I ever had any tickets on my student account. Even if they did somehow get me for them, I still paid hundreds or even 1k+ less than I would have if I bought the pass.

Really? I could have sworn I have gotten a Dasani from the Coke machines by the fridges and such before. I could be wrong though, I do remember thinking it was Odd they sell Gatorade/vitamin water but not regular water at the gym.

No, I wasn't asked about it. Got asked a lot (and lectured to a lot) about my driving record from when I was like 18  but not about parking tickets.

I think they're probably referring to parking tickets from a municipality.

Wow the C&F committee asked about your driving record? Are they only concerned with "major" violations like passing a school bus, crossing a double line, driving after suspension, and DUI? Or do they get into "minor" violations like speeding and rolling through a stop sign. I average about 1-2 minor violation per year. I'm going to have to tone down my driving if they care about "minor" violations.
