Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (politics pole)
Pro gun for days, Chargers and I have seen eye to eye on it. NRA is always getting weird though. Never understand those people that need to bring their arsenal to public places just because it's legal. CC > Open carry any day

i wish we could outlaw all weapons more powerful than a glock 9
wars would be so much more interesting and cheaper
imagine trying to shoot someone from a helicopter with a colt defender
people would get tired pretty quickly

Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (politics pole)
You could be more pro gun if you're open to background checks! You're pro gun but being open to background checks means you're willing to compromise and accept that the other side might have a point which is the important part of all this. I think if you find yourself in the total extreme on either side of this issue (or any issue really), that's a problem.chargers21 wrote:I could not possibly be more pro gun, but I am open to background checks like Dr.Degrees has said. I really draw the line on arbitrary bans on guns that look bad, like banning anything with a bayonut lug, muzzle break, pistol grip, collapsible stock, etc. The constitution is pretty clear on gun ownership and the purpose of it. I simply do not trust a government official more with a gun than I trust myself with it, and since the government isn't limiting themselves, why should I? Gun registries are also VERY bad.
On the y'all vs. ya'll vs. yall debate, y'all and yall are both fine. Ya'll is not, as it would be a contraction of you will.
Sincerely,
Your resident redneck.
I was honestly for gun bans for "scary looking" guns until I talked to a couple friends of mine that were really into guns and I actually listened to them. One thing that has stuck with me was when they pointed out that the people making the rules about gun restrictions/bans don't know a hell of a lot about guns (which is true and makes for some pretty bad law making decisions). I realized I had strong beliefs about something that I didn't know a lot about either. All of my friends that are responsible gun owners believe in some gun control (background checks, etc) and I'm much more open to listening to them than someone who is unwilling to understand why some controls are necessary. There's a really common sense middle ground on this subject that I think could be reached if politicians (cough cough lobbyists) on both sides weren't so intent on fucking it all up.

I tend to think most gun control conversations center around the wrong type of weapons.
