I bet it's tough for them to know...they have to email people and ask "are you REAAAAAAAAAAALY coming in the fall? Please tell me the truth!!" While I love no tuition deposit, it must make things confusing in the admissions dept when ITE is forcing people to avoid risk at all costs (or in this case, no cost at all)lawcycle2010 wrote:why has nothing been going on at UW???

That being said, the report on multiple commitments is coming out in a couple weeks so they may start forcing decisions from their students...Nightrunner wrote:This. I'd expect a small number of waitlist spots in the next few weeks, and then very little (if any) movement for the rest of the summer.Regionality wrote:I bet it's tough for them to know...they have to email people and ask "are you REAAAAAAAAAAALY coming in the fall? I'm starting to realize that Madison might just be the best place for me. It will be my cheapest T1 option, that's for sure.

I feel like i'm the only one left on here that didn't get pulled from the WL....
Anyone have any suggestions?? Sounds like they are going to cut the WL in the next week or so (maybe waiting for June LSAT scores??? just my thought even though i didn't take them).
My numbers are within range but fal right below the median. Do you think I even have a shot at this point? Do you think they will just pull people that can replace the numbers of people that withdraw? Or do you think they will take a chance on someone if I camp outside the law school until orientation??

In a bizarre moment of personal hilariousness, I was so overjoyed that my new issue of Bon Appétit arrived that I didn't even notice the packet from UW had come until this morning. Awesome.17ShortFuse wrote:I got my packet of information from them yesterday.lawcycle2010 wrote:Alright, anything???? from anyone??

To those of you lucky enough to be in at UW...question:
was there anything in your packet asking for any kind of confirmation that you will be attending UW in the fall??
Still on the WL here....anyone on the WL get any updates??

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
Wisconsin can see if you are deposited at other schools. After WUSTL accepted me (and gave me only three days to put down my deposit), I deposited there on a Monday. By Thursday, Dean Hall had e-mailed me prompting me to decide regarding Wisconsin. I wanted to have a week to think about it before I withdrew from Wisconsin -- it is a great school, and in-state tuition is a pretty good deal.lawcycle2010 wrote:To those of you lucky enough to be in at UW...question:

So the moral of the story is, Wisconsin is on top of things, and knows pretty quickly if you are deposited somewhere else. They can get a pretty good idea of how committed you are this way.

Have you kept in touch with the admissions office regularly? Do you have at least one number (GPA or LSAT) above median?lawcycle2010 wrote:Looks like there have been some people pulled off the WL and rejected yesterday (according to LSN)....

Numbers are close but not above median. I've visited the office a few times in the past, but not regular contact....didnt want to come accross as annoying. Do you think i should be calling them/ emailing them? if so how often? just to ask about status???

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
If you haven't sent anything in in the last 2-3 weeks, I would really get on it. They're not going to think you're annoying if you really want to go there. As long as you don't call them every week and beg, I think you'll be fine. Write them another LOCI saying you'll make plans to move to Madison immediately if you are admitted.lawcycle2010 wrote:Numbers are close but not above median. Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
Think about it from their perspective: it may be a little extra work but they'll KNOW you want to be there. Your name will be known...these are good things in Wisconsin's eyes. I definitely think you should tell them you will be attend, if you haven't done so already.lawcycle2010 wrote:Numbers are close but not above median. Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
Like others have said, you need to let them no you will for sure attend. To put it into perspective I toured the school twice and wrote 2 LOCI. I made it very clear that I would attend. (note: my first tour of the school was before I even ever applied or took the LSAT).
