Applied 12/9
Complete 12/12
IR 1/9
LSAT well above 75th and GPA basically at median. Not mad, just a little surprised

They're either going hard on GPA or YP'ing or a bit of both.
It's confusing.

I smell YP, and maybe figuring that these folks with LSATs way above their 75th are going to expect more $$$ than they care to hand out?

Looks like someone at USC was jealous that UCLA got into the top 15 and waitlisted everyone who got in there out of spite.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: USC c/o 2020 Applicants Thread (2016-2017)
Yeah, I figure there's a lot of that going on. I've been WL'd at 5 schools, some T6, some not even T20. My LSAT is too high for lower schools to comfortably accept while my GPA is low enough for any adcom to laugh me out of the building. It's a frustrating position to be in but hey, I'm happy to get in anywhere with my ridiculous GPA.BobBoblaw wrote:I smell YP, and maybe figuring that these folks with LSATs way above their 75th are going to expect more $$$ than they care to hand out?

It's all good. I'm stoked on UCLA and got into some way better schools so I'm not stressing. From the east coast so Ima go explore DT for a bit. Any suggestions?

Well, in that case, UCLA should remove me from the waitlist to show USC who is clearly the better SoCal schoolnjdevils327 wrote:Looks like someone at USC was jealous that UCLA got into the top 15 and waitlisted everyone who got in there out of spite.

I've always loved USC Football but UCLA basketball...so I was never sure which one I liked more. But UCLA can quickly decide for me by simply removing me from its waitlistimtca wrote:Well, in that case, UCLA should remove me from the waitlist to show USC who is clearly the better SoCal schoolnjdevils327 wrote:Looks like someone at USC was jealous that UCLA got into the top 15 and waitlisted everyone who got in there out of spite.

If it helps, it seems like many ppl (myself included) are either in at UCLA or USC, but not both.

Get lunch at Grand Central Market, check out Angels Flight if you loved La La Land, go to the Broad Museum, City Hall observation deck, walk around Little Tokyo, get a drink at Perch, or The Standard, check out the Central Library, go for a swim in the pool on top of the Ace Hotel, walk down Olvera Street, check out Union Station.Pugnax wrote:Mr_Chukes wrote:Wow sorry to hear. Oh and also, to get to all these, take the Expo line from USC to 7th Street/Metro Center. Most are walkable, for some you may need to transfer to the Red/Purple line. Or uber. Parking downtown is a bitch.

I got waitlisted by UCLA and I'm still waiting to hear back from USC, but what I've read doesn't look promising where merit schollys for WLers are concerned.njdevils327 wrote:I got half tuition to UCLA but waitlisted to USC (A school i wanted to go to more at the beginning of the process)????
So weird. Anyone know or hear of people getting off the waitlist quickly by submitting a LOCI to their Waitlist response form? Or getting money from them after getting on the waitlist?
This sucks....
