We’d like to invite you to Texas Law’s Optional Mini Visit (OMV) on Friday, April 1st.
The OMV is a half-day program featuring a mock class, a panel presentation on careers, a luncheon hosted by Texas Law faculty, and opportunities to sit in on panels showcasing some of the law school’s curricular offerings. We hope you come and visit with Texas Law’s community and your future classmates.
Please register for the events HERE. (https://law.utexas.edu/admissions/fresh ... istration/)
We are proud to have such a distinguished group of admitted students on the path to becoming members of the Texas Law Class of 2019!
It seems like the admitted students day is full and/or you can no longer register for it

I think that's because admitted students day was in early March. The mini visit is the only event that hasn't happened yet.jyo78 wrote:periwinkley wrote:Here's the email I got:yellowyak46 wrote:Yeah how do we find out about the admitted students weekend? Hey y'all. I was accepted by phone call today and the person on the other line mentioned that the school was willing to pay for travel to visit the school, does anyone know how that process goes?

Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm in state so this doesn't apply to me for Texas. My experience with OOS schools that I got into is that there is an application for a waiver somewhere on he admitted students forum. You have to book your travel first and then you get reimbursed after the weekend. I'm not 100% sure how this will work since the official admitted students day has passed but I'm sure they will offer it for the "mini weekend" When you register you will get an email confirmation. I would just reply to that and ask them what to do.Gabe wrote:Hey y'all. Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
The consensus seems to be 3-4 weeks from acceptance date. I'm hoping that with the deposit deadline coming soon and people getting in last week and even on Sunday, that number will be closer to 2 weeks though. I haven't seen if anybody has received an offer faster than 3 weeks though.pmcd88 wrote:Texas has been super great about reaching out to me pretty quickly. The only concern is that the date for the deposit is more than 2 weeks before any other school. How long did it take for you guys to receive merit scholarship information? I love the idea of UT but it would be hard to make a decision to attend if I don't have much time to weigh their offer vs what other schools are giving me.

Does anyone know how to renegotiate the scholarship? Is there a form to fill out or do I just forward them the information from competing "peer schools"?

Well admittedly, I was hoping to be one of those waitlisters to be pulled to the accepted side, but alas they still hate me.LandMermaid wrote:Thank you! Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hey all. I booked a flight to Austin for April 7th thru the 9th solely to visit and express as much interest as possible as a waitlist candidate (I finally had a small window with my Navy duty schedule for a couple days of leave). I'm curious if anyone here has scheduled a similar visit and how you went about asking for a potential meeting with Dean Rivera? I would love to sit down with her and talk about my application if that sort of thing is done, but I certainly don't want to do anything pushy or aggressive. Anybody have any thoughts? I feel like flying down there makes a good impression and I want the visit to be worth the money.
Also, any thoughts on how much notice I should give them on my visit? It's two weeks out now, but I don't want to give them a heads up too early or too late. I'm sure this all seems sort of overkill, but this needs to go well.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
