It seems like once they admit all the 12s sent back from faculty review, they give the remaining spots to applicants who got 11s. This means that early completers with that score would have a shot at getting in. The only thing is that it's unclear how many spots are left (from the sound of it the Facebook group has more people in it than it usually does this time of the year).oalkhawaja wrote:Is it safe to say that if we went complete in December that we are destined for wl/ding? All of us long waiters (I've been chilling since October) have hope all the way until the end. Thankfully, the end is nigh.

Doesn't "early next week" mean Monday or Tuesday?... As opposed to "middle of next week," or "late next week." Come on Yale, show us some love!

It depends on how you interpret the statement! If we're defining early in the week in terms of discrete relative position in a seven day period, then yes, Monday, Tuesday, or even Wednesday would constitute early in the week. However, if you consider that Yale usually makes admission calls on Saturday-- and, last week, on a Friday-- then one may read "early in the week" as a statement of relative timing. If anyone knows what the Yale admissions office is thinking at any given point, please contact me. I'd like to start a consulting firm with you!lawj5 wrote:Doesn't "early next week" mean Monday or Tuesday?... As opposed to "middle of next week," or "late next week." Could also mean "early" as in the time of the day. Maybe they'll be making class at 11am Saturday, "early" -er in the day than last Saturday!Smc1994 wrote:It depends on how you interpret the statement! Re: Yale c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
But seriously how many different commonly accepted definitions of a week are there? I think there's general agreement that the week starts on Sunday or Monday.Smc1994 wrote:While I agree, that's certainly a possibility, I think it's a bit less likely based on the wording. The ordering of the sentence "[e]xpect more calls early next week" implies that the definition of week is in question, not the timing of the calls themselves. Had the sentence been structured in a slightly different way, perhaps, but not limited to, "expect more early calls next week," I would agree with you wholeheartedly. Sorry, LSAT thinking is helping to alleviate the stress of my thesis! I promise I'm not this contentious in person!pterodactyls wrote:Could also mean "early" as in the time of the day. Couldn't saying "early next week" on a Saturday night mean the following week as in the week starting 8 days later?SuperAverageJoe wrote:Last time they tweeted that they would be back "early next week" (12/18/15), they came back on a Tuesday (12/22/15). I think Tuesday is the last day in a given week that could be described as "early". Also, in the past two years, they've released at least some decisions every other day during the first week in April, and they seemingly didn't release decisions yesterday. So, I'm guessing/hoping they make some calls tonight. But who knows!

Re: Yale c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
First, they didn't guarantee calls.
They said "Expect more calls early next week." They didn't say "There will definitely be more calls early next week."
Second, who's getting the calls?
Maybe by "Expect more calls" they meant that their admissions office expects to receive more calls (from inpatient applicants).
Third, what kind of calls are we talking about?
Maybe they meant that we should expect to feel our "calling in life" early next week. You know, our calling to attend other law schools, because we're all getting denied from Yale.

Well, that depends on what the definition of "is" is.
