I thought the consensus was that interviews are for borderline candidates, borderline scholarship candidates (but definite admits), and candidates for whom the AdComms have some questions... but I might be wrong. I was admitted without an interview at the end of January and I know a few others who were admitted without interviews, and none of us has gotten named scholarships or anything. So I think Columbia interview is very different from, say, UChicago or Harvard interviews, which seem to be pretty much a necessary condition for admission.tk17 wrote:mwonka wrote:Sorry if this has been discussed already, but what's the consensus on interviews? There's a consensus on interviews a few pages back. It's before admits started, but not much before that.

Due to some technical difficulties with USPS, this announcement is coming a bit delayed but I wanted to say that I was accepted and offered a Butler. No interview, letter dated 1/22. Complete 10/30, PM for stats.

I'm not too caught up in the law school admissions thing, but I think it's interesting.

Yeah I'm an international student, and international students are assigned a different LSAC evaluation (not a numerical GPA) to US/Canadian undergrads!hereisonehand wrote:international studentbutSeriously wrote:Mind sharing why no GPA?musedreverie wrote:In via email with a nice side note from Dean Iwerebon at the bottom!!!! Now I'm all paranoid that I've outed myself to the the adcoms that visit these forums. Fortunately my limited posting history is extremely boring.pulstar1 wrote:so only one TLSer got in via email today? seems kinda weird.

I think so long as you don't post exact stats or specific information--keeping most identifying stuff to PM you should be fine. IDK. Too much to worry about.aibohphobia wrote:Now I'm all paranoid that I've outed myself to the the adcoms that visit these forums. Being outed in itself isn't necessarily a problem; it only matters when you've badmouthed schools, posted embarrassing stuff, etc. So if your posting history is boring, you don't have to worry!aibohphobia wrote:Now I'm all paranoid that I've outed myself to the the adcoms that visit these forums. Has anyone had any success requesting a fee waiver from Columbia? I never got one back in Oct, and just asked but I think I got rebuffed.

I don't think so, but you can check the Fee Waiver thread:mpc347 wrote:Has anyone had any success requesting a fee waiver from Columbia? I never got one back in Oct, and just asked but I think I got rebuffed.
