Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Sorry, should have included details above--
Applied mid-October, complete a week later, and admitted a month later. No Darrow invite. Above both 75ths but don't have meteoric LSAT numbers.
Best of luck all!

Just curious if the Darrow invite (or any other scholly offer if others want to chime in) shows up under "Admissions Communications" on the Student Resources tab of the admitted students' site?

Congratulations! You're in! Because we're wowed by flash drives and yellow portfolios and personalized notes, we are sending you a large envelope with a formal acceptance letter and lots of information about Michigan Law. But because we are wowed by YOU, we didn't want to make you wait to find out.dude2nd wrote:What does the status say when you get accepted?

I'm taking the fact that the status checker shows an update today to mean that the update date is meaningless.

Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Well, they updated it to say that nothing changed, anyway. They're not manually updating every file every day. They have to have a program that takes care of it.
I SERIOUSLY doubt the status checker changes mean what some seem to think they mean. It just means they have a computer program changing a couple numbers around for them while they're doing their actual work. I think it's just a cheap service they added for a psychological boost for the applicants. I have wondered how much impact this small difference has on UM matriculation rates for some time since it's so well received by this non-representational sample.

I think it would be better if it didnt change and instead had a UR1 UR2 etc system so you could actually track your progress somewhat

This would be a fantastic idea, although I do appreciate UM updating their status checker better than most schools.james.bungles wrote:I think it would be better if it didnt change and instead had a UR1 UR2 etc system so you could actually track your progress somewhat

Did anyone get a complete email from Michigan? I never got one. I just knew it was complete because of the status checker.

No, I didn't receive a separate completion email. The Michigan status checker email contains the following "Among other things, the Online Status Checker will indicate immediately when your application has become “complete” (which should occur within four weeks of our receiving all required materials)" I assume they won't send one, you just have to find out via status checker.PN-G bamakid wrote:Did anyone get a complete email from Michigan? Did anyone submit less than three letters? I have two LoRs...have to decide if it's worth it to hold my application so I can get a third.

Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Hey guys,
I haven't seen much discussion about their summer start option. Does anyone know if usually only one option is awarded upon admissions? Will they negotiate with an applicant who's admitted for one and rathers the other? Do most people just put both down in the application or should a serious decision be made before submitting the app because afterwards they will hold firm with their decision? Finally, is one considered harder than the other to get into?
If anyone has any information about this I'd luv to hear it!
Thanks!!
