Has this thread turned into a version of the Lounge?

It's been a slow week, to my surprise. I still expect a decision somewhere else by Friday, but maybe I'm wrong.lawschool22 wrote:I'll try to get it back on track.wtrc wrote:Has this thread turned into a version of the Lounge?
I haven't heard a thing since my interview. Complete number three was on 11/13, and I had my interview last week (12/3)...this waiting thing is getting to me.

Very slow. I think the weather and late Thanksgiving probably have something to do with it. But if there isn't much activity this week, I think next week will be a big week for a lot of people at a lot of schools.wtrc wrote:It's been a slow week, to my surprise. How soon?! I need to know when I should increase my status checker refresh frequency from 5/day to 50/day!wtrc wrote:Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Michigan, Penn, Columbia, Chicago... all have waves soon

Haha, tbh, since these usually come in waves (Michigan an exception), and since often the decisions aren't on status checkers (also Michigan an exception).... might make more sense to just check this forum.nuke_engineer wrote:How soon?! Finally had a date change after the interview! My interview was a while ago. I live close to DC so hopefully I have a letter in the mail soon.

Yep this is lovely news. Projected out it's around 50,000 applicants for the class of 2017.
Edit: meant to say class of 2017

The law schools that are not in the first-tier are going to have a really rough time, wow.lawschool22 wrote:Yep this is lovely news. Projected out it's around 50,000 applicants for the class of 2014.
I can see why the decisions are coming later this year. I wonder if schools are going to reduce class size or just reduce medians like last year.

Yeah this has been my theory for the past few weeks on the delay in decisions. My guess is the top schools will still keep similar class sizes and hope for some stabilization next year. But for the class of 2018 I could see reductions if this doesn't bottom out.wtrc wrote:The law schools that are not in the first-tier are going to have a really rough time, wow.lawschool22 wrote:Yep this is lovely news. UMich sent me an article yesterday that by the time we graduate, the job market for bar-passage jobs is going to be strongly in our favor.lawschool22 wrote:Yeah this has been my theory for the past few weeks on the delay in decisions. It was deleted off their website, presumably because the first paragraph says exactly the opposite of what the rest of the article says, but if it's even a little bit accurate it's promising news for us.

Checking in guys, just submitted a few days ago. Definitely a reach for me, but I'd love to go, great school. Good luck to all, may a positive and speedy decision be in your destiny.

I'm hoping that people who's statuses were updated on 12/5 are getting acceptances soon. Seems to come in waves from what I can tell with this thread, a bunch of people get their 3rd complete and then a week later acceptance letters roll in.

As one of those 12/5 people, I very much hope you're right.tigersaresexy wrote:I'm hoping that people who's statuses were updated on 12/5 are getting acceptances soon. Also, does the status checker update to decision made/some equivalent after the acceptance letter is sent? I fear that it'll come to my apartment while I'm away for winter break, and then I won't find out until January....

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
They emailed me about an interview on December 6th asking a. if I wanted to be interviewed at all and b. which method of interviewing (in person, phone, skype). I responded the same day saying I could do any of the three, but that skype would be preferable.
They haven't responded since. How long should I wait before politely inquiring as to my interview status?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
