Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
So I originally didn't do the optional essay. After reading things online, I've become incredibly upset that I didn't and have started to write it.
What do you guys think: worse that I submit the optional essay late, or worse that I don't submit it at all? And how big of a deal is submitting it late? I could give excuses for why I didn't do it, but frankly I don't think they're acceptable.

Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Just submitted after my december retake came out.
I really surprised myself with my score, it was much better than October's. I wrote the optional dean fitts essay so I hope I wont get YP'ed although my GPA is not spectacular.
Good luck to you all!!

I wouldn't downplay that GPA, especially with your LSAT score. The essay was probably a pretty good idea, as you're definitely in the running at HLS.milkandcheerios wrote:Just submitted after my december retake came out.

Penn is my top choice but I don't know where or if I should tell them that. I did the team optional essay, I had a much easier time writing it than the Dean's essay and it came out much better. Should I just add that in my team essay, or should I put it in my personal statement? I would write a why Penn essay but that wasn't an option from what I saw.
171 and a 3.72 LSDAS (3.83 undergrad), so I am hoping this will be good enough for them.

I switched from RD to Penn ED2 because I saw the same on LSN and Penn is definitely my #1 choice. 3.93/166. Hoping I can get lucky and the ED gives me a boost.goldenboy514 wrote:did anyone ED Penn? On another note...do we know how Penn informs accepted students of their decision (specifically for ED)? Is it a phone call? This may be back in the thread somewhere but I've been attempting to keep up and don't remember it so figured I'd post. Thanks!

How do we switch from rd to ed? Do we just email them? I was held for the first round of ed, but I feel that my application has improved and I want to ed again.

What do you guys think: Does Penn weigh GPA, or LSAT better? My last is quite above their 75% and my GPA is pretty much right at the 25%, but mylsn insists my chances at Penn are oddly slim. I've put so much effort into studying for the LSAT and keeping my grades up that I'd be quite disappointed if one poor year of undergrad completely corrupts three stellar years.
