I think there are three different interviewers but I hear most of the interviews are fairly casual and relaxed.

I misspelled the word 'switch' in the subject line of an email I sent to the admissions office. Should I be mortified?

Lol calm down buddy! It's not likely the adcomm/interviewer will see the subject of your email. The admin assistant will add your essay and switch your status then update JD/AR with an updated file. The only reason to have cause for concern is if the response was from JD/AR/CF.zlatanlaw wrote:I misspelled the word 'switch' in the subject line of an email I sent to the admissions office. Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Early in the cycle I sent the admissions office a question via email asking if a snafu in the submission process (due to an LSAC internal error) would mal-affect my application or not... I had a severe concussion at the time and thought that mal-affect was a damn good word that's not used enough. However, I soon got the uneasy feeling that my concussed brain had completely made up said word. ...yep. The school wrote back saying that X issue would not "mal-affect" (<--their quotes) my application. Haha damn. At least you have a story to tell. gr9 is a fun one yeah.LEPWU wrote:gr9...hadn't heard that before (thought you might have missed the 8 ), but now that I'm in the know, you've made my day! Thanks also to RCO2012 for the encouragement...I am still hoping (with slightly unfounded optimism) for a few pleasant surprises this cycle. With complete dates going back to the dark ages of late Sept. and early Oct., and with the insecurity of a reverse-splitter, though, I have begun losing the faith as of late. Wishing speedy decisions to you all (...what's going to happen is going to happen, so it'd be nice to get on with decision making at OUR end)! Best of luck!!
I'm sure you'll get some pleasant surprises, and as a reveres splitter, your backup options are a lot more appealing than a regular splitter (can't retake a gpa

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Hey everyone! After months of silence from UVA, I have finally been invited to interview so cue panic attack. From what I have read on this thread (and I have been lurking on TLS for months now), it sounds as if UVA throws some strange questions out during the interview. If any RD applicants who have already had their interview would PM me with details, I would be ridiculously appreciative!
And don't worry LEPWU, the admissions people probably just had a quick laugh and promptly forgot all about it. Or maybe decided that you are the next Shakespeare, since he invented all sorts of words.

Thank you!! As an aside, when did you get the interview request? (Today, Saturday? Or perhaps earlier in the week?) Congratulations!kershka wrote:And don't worry LEPWU, the admissions people probably just had a quick laugh and promptly forgot all about it. Sorry guys! I didn't think how that would sound to a bunch of panicked 0Ls. No, I received my interview request last Thursday around noon. Weekends can still be relaxing times where one doesn't have to check status checkers thirty times an hour

How do I update my application to UVa with an additional addendum/essay?
Do I email it to lawadmit@virginia.edu and include my name, LSAC number, and describe the document?

Feel free to PM me with your questions regarding interviews. Some of the questions are unique, many are not, but there is a good plan to utilize to prepare prior to the interview that I can share with you.kershka wrote:Hey everyone! Yes, and depending on what the document is, you may want to explain why it was not included in the original application.sinclair wrote:How do I update my application to UVa with an additional addendum/essay?
