I would place STCL on the "don't go" list. Look, I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's a bad school. A few years ago, it was maybe a decent option, but the market is super tight and going to STCL is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 out of 6 chambers loaded. If your dream is to be a lawyer, fine and dandy, but don't pursue it all costs. If you can't get in to one of the good schools in Texas, sit it out and retake and increase your chances at a better school, which is a much better use of your time and money.

This isn't debating between Duke and Boston College, or something similar. This is a choice between objectively decent to good schools, and objectively terrible schools.

Although, after having to pay to fix my hot water heater, I am not convinced I should have been a plumber.

I know someone asked about this earlier in the thread, but has anyone had any sort of success negotiating scholarship money? I'd love to end up in Dallas but only $17K/year is still gonna leave a steep bill.

Thanks for the response. That's too bad, I guess I'll give it and shot and if it's a no-go then hopefully someone on the WL will be getting my scholarship.

Just found out today that I was waitlisted. We'll see where it goes from here, not really sure what the process is like regarding waitlisted students.

I'm an AA female. I was accepted to Texas Wesleyan, but from all accounts, I've heard it isn't worth going there because of ranking and job statistics. I still plan on putting my seat deposit down at Wesleyan and going to their mixer though.

Withdrawing with 42k. It was hard, but other out-of-state, higher ranked schools were offering me more aid. It's looking like I'll be heading to Emory this fall!

Just called them. I've been application completed since 25 February (applied part-time only). They said they're still finalizing decisions and should hear something end of this week or early next week. Hope this gives some people something to look forward to.
