Hey everybody, I have a request.
If anyone here has used mylsn.info (LinkRemoved) and it has proven to tremendously aid you in the law school admissions process, please consider voting for LSATSCORES2012 in this poll. He is the creator of this tool and because of the degree to which it has aided me in my application process, I feel he should without a doubt be the winner of the tittle, "Most helpful poster" for 2012. If you agree with me, please vote for him too.
Thanks!

Same. I haven't heard anything from Penn giving me a log in or anything yet. Should we contact them at all? LSAC shows my app as complete so I just want to ensure everything is really good to go.zestylemon wrote:Submitted ED2 yesterday, completed today!
still no email from them though giving me a application checker log in or any of that though, the other schools I applied to last night sent them to me first thing in the morning... anyone else have this? are they just slower on it?

For people who just submitted - give it time, you will get your status checker.

Well I just sent in my ED agreement. Well see if they'll even let me switch my application from RD since I'm already at UCR 2 as of 12/21.

Would it be really stupid to ED to Penn over UVA if I want to work in DC or Atlanta?
I really like Penn... but not NY. Please attack me with opinions, I haven't been able to decide and the ED is due in, what, 11 hours?

yes -- Penn has "huge" NYC placement -- I remember something like 45%. So, I don't think you want to lock yourself in like that.North wrote:Would it be really stupid to ED to Penn over UVA if I want to work in DC or Atlanta?

But what people place into is not the same as what they have the ability to place into.curious66 wrote:yes -- Penn has "huge" NYC placement -- I remember something like 45%. No, it wouldn't be really stupid. If you really like Penn and not UVA, that should have more weight than the negligible or non-existent edge UVA has placement-wise in DC or Atlanta.North wrote:Would it be really stupid to ED to Penn over UVA if I want to work in DC or Atlanta?

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
I don't think you can go wrong with either. TLS CW is that both schools are peers while Penn may have a slight advantage of NY. But less people at UVA are gunning for NY. I personally would prefer student life in Philly as opposed to Charlottesville, but that's just me.North wrote:Would it be really stupid to ED to Penn over UVA if I want to work in DC or Atlanta?

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
There's a thread on the status of the ATL market somewhere on TLS - you should check it out. The thrust of the thread is that ATL is a bloodbath and few firms are hiring. Going to Penn won't help your chances of ATL, as the feeders are UVA/Duke/Vandy and the in-state schools. Not sure about Penn's placement in DC.North wrote:Would it be really stupid to ED to Penn over UVA if I want to work in DC or Atlanta?

Also, might not want to be so picky if you're going to pay sticker (assuming you have no savings/family help, might not be a great assumption).
I know someone in the top third at NYU who bid DC only and struck out when he could have easily gotten offers from big NY firms. He didn't have ties though. DC is generally a tough market to crack. (Don't quote this post).

Thank you guys, this is really helping. I'm getting the feeling that I should just suck it up and go buy some pastel polo shirts and a pair of Sperrys.

Curious whether there are any other 11/20 UCR1 people hanging around with no decision or further updates...

so i know penn probably was busy w/ the deadline and all yesterday and all but does anyone have experience with emailing them so i can gauge what sort of response time to expect?
I'd just like confirmation of some kind that they got the email with my ED form yesterday.
