I just got $62500/$75000, and based on parents' financials, I'd expect that to be $0 if not for merit $$$. I don't really see why they would take parents into account when assessing merit scholarships --- it's about wooing people away from other schools, and they realize that even people with wealthy parents are likely footing the bill for law school themselves.
In other news: for someone dead set on PI, is $75000 enough to made me consider NYU against Harvard? I'm not extremely debt-averse if PI support & loan forgiveness programs are strong. And from the quick look I've given NYU's LRAP program, it seems slightly less wonderful than Harvard's. Any thoughts?
