Why couldn't I have been from SD, dammit.SmbdyBringMeSomeHam wrote:I just came from a financial aid workshop with Dean Brown, and he was extremely willing for me to come to his office to negotiate scholarships.
Also, FWIW, he said that since they have alumni in all states but South Dakota, they would very seriously be willing to give a full-ride to any applicant from SD with decent scores.

Oh Dean Brown. Someone in my section is from South Dakota, which I only know since I lived in SD prior to LS.SmbdyBringMeSomeHam wrote:I just came from a financial aid workshop with Dean Brown, and he was extremely willing for me to come to his office to negotiate scholarships.

Someone in her section is from South Dakota. She only knows this because she lived in South Dakota before law school. I'm assuming that's what they talked about when they met.cogitoergosum wrote:I'm confused.JenDarby wrote:Oh Dean Brown. I presume he's confused about Dean Brown's statement. Though, technically it's still not incorrect as she isn't an alumnus.

Equally important, will she be returning to SD?
If not, then Fordham still won't have an alumnus there.

True - not incorrect.... First time in my life I can say I'm wishing I was from South Dakota!

So I'm new to the forum. I'm currently wait-listed as of December and now I'm FREAKING out hearing that people are getting pulled up. I just sent in a LOCI, new transcript and resume to update my file. I just got my first acceptance today to Brooklyn but I'm really hoping Fordham pulls me up. I saw one recent acceptance off of the WL, anyone else? Good luck to you all!

For those who received scholarship offers, did they come with the official admission letter in the mail, or ??

Don't sweat it...it was specifically for students in my undergrad. I go to school in NYC so our pre-law society got him to come speak seeing as he's right here.cogitoergosum wrote:What was this financial aid workshop and why was I not invited??SmbdyBringMeSomeHam wrote:I just came from a financial aid workshop with Dean Brown, and he was extremely willing for me to come to his office to negotiate scholarships.

Yeah, he did say that you should be "planning on working in your home state" so that they could have an alumnus/a there, but not sure if they could bind you to that.dingbat wrote:Equally important, will she be returning to SD?

They can't bind you to that - even if you agree in writing, this would not be enforcible in court.SmbdyBringMeSomeHam wrote:Yeah, he did say that you should be "planning on working in your home state" so that they could have an alumnus/a there, but not sure if they could bind you to that.dingbat wrote:Equally important, will she be returning to SD?

Question for those of you that were WL'd around 12/8, when you guys sent in your LOCIs did your status date change and if so how long did it take for you guys?
