Thanks. I thought it would be longer than Thurs to Sun. but it is good to know they will resume working next week.quaker10 wrote:Not a dumb question at all! All offices (and the post office) are closed on Thanksgiving Day, which is this Thursday. It varies whether or not offices are open on Friday, but many people do tend to take the entire time (Thursday-Sunday) off from work. Hope that helps!

Sorry for this dumb question but I am an international student from a country with no tradition for Thanksgiving.

Have answers to why Georgetown and why law. Other than that, I think the interviews have been pretty different depending on who you get.emkay625 wrote:Phone interview tomorrow. Any words of wisdom?
My interview was definitely not scripted at all. During the first half of the interview, she just wanted to know more about my interests and during the other half, she told me about why she enjoyed Georgetown and what the school has to offer that would suit my interests/purpose for law school. My interview felt more softball than my on-campus interview at NU (IIRC you've had your on-campus NU as well).
Good luck!

Well, it took several days of calls, emails, and a subtle change of a subject line, but I'm in!

If you haven't gotten an interview by now and you submitted at beginning of November, is it fair to assume you won't get one?

deferred to RD hours ago. (I applied ED / completed twice -- 10/31 & 11/4)
Anyway, GULC was reach -- a super reach school for me

If you're above both 75ths you'll probably be in the next round of acceptances without an interview. It seems like so far they have sent them out in batches via mail every couple weeks.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Wondering the same.Strange wrote:If you haven't gotten an interview by now and you submitted at beginning of November, is it fair to assume you won't get one?

It's been suggested that the interview is a way for GULC to pick between borderline candidates. If you're above both 75ths you definitely aren't making GULC's decision difficult enough where they need to interview you.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Are the only/majority of the people getting acceptances people who interviewed?msblaw89 wrote:Maybe that's why you don't need to interviewWhiteGuy5 wrote:Wondering the same.Strange wrote:If you haven't gotten an interview by now and you submitted at beginning of November, is it fair to assume you won't get one?

I was admitted about a month after I applied/went complete without an interview. I'm above both 75ths. Don't worry if you don't get an interview, quite a few people ITT were admitted without them.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Are the only/majority of the people getting acceptances people who interviewed?msblaw89 wrote:Maybe that's why you don't need to interviewWhiteGuy5 wrote:Wondering the same.Strange wrote:If you haven't gotten an interview by now and you submitted at beginning of November, is it fair to assume you won't get one?

Sorry to read that, at least it was not a complete rejection. You never know what could happen. I remember you from when I posted earlier about ED. I am starting to think that the same thing happened to me or worse, not accepted. It's also a reach school for me too so I won't be surprised if I am not accepted. Did you apply both for both the Part Time and Full Time Programs?

guys, how does the acceptance letter look like? I mean, is it thin with just one piece of paper or there are some more materials and from the first look on envelope you can know that it's the acceptance or denial?

Pretty small envelope, to me it's the one where if it was undergrad you'd know it was a rejection.ValerOn1820 wrote:guys, how does the acceptance letter look like? It's just a two page letter and it's not even letter sized, it's 7x10 or something. I thought it was going to be an acknowledgment they'd received my app or a promo letter.ValerOn1820 wrote:guys, how does the acceptance letter look like? To clarify... GULC does not change status to " decision mailed" right?

No, but the dates seem to stop updating when they mail a decision. I'm still at "Application Completed" dated 11/7 which was also the postmark on my acceptance.msblaw89 wrote:To clarify... GULC does not change status to " decision mailed" right?

Ugg nothing in the mail today. I wish they would just tell me either way, so that I can move on.

I think (want to believe) that the majority of people interviewed get accepted as well. It's nothing make or break.Strange wrote:

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
There was some data a few pages back that showed that just under 40% of interviewed applicants are accepted, just under 40% are put on the priority waitlist, and then the rest are either put on the regular waitlist or rejected. At least I think that's what it was. This is just off the top of my head.Nobody wrote:I think (want to believe) that the majority of people interviewed get accepted as well. Which reminds me, does anybody know what the deal is with the "priority waitlist"? How is it different from a regular waitlist? Are the odds pretty good of getting accepted off it?

Was a verdict reached on whether or not date changes on the status checker mean anything for Georgetown? Mine changed from 11/14 to 11/22 just now.
