Not a dumb question at all! All offices (and the post office) are closed on Thanksgiving Day, which is this Thursday. It varies whether or not offices are open on Friday, but many people do tend to take the entire time (Thursday-Sunday) off from work. Hope that helps!

anyone brief me about Thanksgiving period? So will adcomms be working during this period? Or how long will the national holiday last?

Sorry for this dumb question but I am an international student from a country with no tradition for Thanksgiving.

Phone interview tomorrow. Any words of wisdom?

Have answers to why Georgetown and why law. Other than that, I think the interviews have been pretty different depending on who you get.

My interview was definitely not scripted at all. During the first half of the interview, she just wanted to know more about my interests and during the other half, she told me about why she enjoyed Georgetown and what the school has to offer that would suit my interests/purpose for law school. My interview felt more softball than my on-campus interview at NU (IIRC you've had your on-campus NU as well).

Anyway, GULC was reach -- a super reach school for me

If you're above both 75ths you'll probably be in the next round of acceptances without an interview. It seems like so far they have sent them out in batches via mail every couple weeks.

It's been suggested that the interview is a way for GULC to pick between borderline candidates. If you're above both 75ths you definitely aren't making GULC's decision difficult enough where they need to interview you.

I was admitted about a month after I applied/went complete without an interview. I'm above both 75ths. Don't worry if you don't get an interview, quite a few people ITT were admitted without them.

Sorry to read that, at least it was not a complete rejection. You never know what could happen. I remember you from when I posted earlier about ED. I am starting to think that the same thing happened to me or worse, not accepted. It's also a reach school for me too so I won't be surprised if I am not accepted. Did you apply both for both the Part Time and Full Time Programs?

Pretty small envelope, to me it's the one where if it was undergrad you'd know it was a rejection.

It's just a two page letter and it's not even letter sized, it's 7x10 or something. I thought it was going to be an acknowledgment they'd received my app or a promo letter.

No, but the dates seem to stop updating when they mail a decision. I'm still at "Application Completed" dated 11/7 which was also the postmark on my acceptance.

I think (want to believe) that the majority of people interviewed get accepted as well. It's nothing make or break.

There was some data a few pages back that showed that just under 40% of interviewed applicants are accepted, just under 40% are put on the priority waitlist, and then the rest are either put on the regular waitlist or rejected. At least I think that's what it was. This is just off the top of my head.

Which reminds me, does anybody know what the deal is with the "priority waitlist"? How is it different from a regular waitlist? Are the odds pretty good of getting accepted off it?
