Hah, I've said this a few times already, but I called Loyola and they said that they have already started accepting people off of the waitlist. So, yes, people have been accepted off of the waitlist, just not any of us.jstubbs wrote:How bout this...has anyone been accepted off the WL or knows anyone that has? This is torture.
I withdrew from the waitlist last week and am attending University of San Diego. I hope things work out for everyone else!!

Thank you! That is exactly why I withdrew from the waitlist...I just simply cannot afford to wait any longer and still have ample time to plan for my cross-country move.jstubbs wrote:congrats LALA...I just need to know where Im going to be living...Im happy with Pepperdine if I dont get nabbed at LLS, but we start in like 4 weeks and the uncertainty is driving me crazy.

Re: Loyola LA 2011
I think we should see some waitlist movement on TLS this week or next. I know there are lots of people not on TLS but the fact that we haven't heard of people being admitted indicates a fairly good chance that most WL movement has yet to occur (although we have no idea if this will be a big or small year for waitlists, their letter did mention anywhere from 10-100 WL admits historically).
I have to move 1,700 miles so it would be nice to know sooner rather than later but my plan B is retake/reapply so there's plenty of incentive to wait as long as possible.
A sincere thank you to those that have decided not to remain on the waitlist for withdrawing in a timely matter, it's greatly appreciated.

I am in the opposite boat! I moved from LA to Arizona and am getting set up. A Loyola admission might just move my ass back. I just couldn't wait any longer.

Accepted off the waitlist and received a large admissions packet via FedEx overnight yesterday. Also received a reconfirmation e-mail beforehand, so be on the lookout for that.

Where is everybody think they are going to live? I have only lived on the westside and melrose areas. Any advice on pico/robertson, miracle mile or Wilshire/Alexandria area?

Re: Loyola LA 2011
you teased me with the hope of more WL movement...as for where to live...
If I get in i'll be in Pasadena/South Pasadena. It's a great area...I thought about living in DT, but it's too expensive. My personal preference would be to avoid Pico/Robertson, not with any real reason, just the vibe from when I have driven by in the past...any thought on Silverlake or Los Feliz?

Do not live in any of the big corporate apartment buildings. There are much better deals available. Just get out of your car and walk around the Miracle Mile area. For god's sake do not live in Park La Brea.

Lol no way I would be able to afford that. I'm talking $700 per month range. Less than half a mile from the Americana thoughjstubbs wrote:Chimp dont tell me it's at the Americana...I kinda like the idea of living there if it werent for the prices...

For a room in a 2/2, admittedly. But the apartment is roomy, and the neighborhood is nice.david787 wrote:$900 for the apt or for a room in the apt?
The commute is fine. Depending on traffic and time of day, I've made it to school in as little as 15 minutes and at most 35. The average drive is about 20-25 minutes. It's also right off Olympic, so there is an express bus that runs right to school, too.jstubbs wrote:how's the commute from Bh?NoleinNY wrote:Credited. That place is a shithole.
