I went to UG in Baltimore and I grew to love it. It gets a bad reputation, but it's a really young city, it's pretty cheap, and there is actually some pretty good food. You can still go to DC whenever you want pretty cheaply too.TurkeyDay wrote:Got an email/phone call today from AU about taking me off the waitlist for consideration into the part-time evening program.
My other two options are U Maryland at sticker (not thrilled about Baltimore) and Chicago-Kent with a good scholarship (I'm from Chicago.)
Love DC, but not sure I can do it with debt, etc.
Thoughts on AU vs. UMD? I realized AU is ranked lower, but I do love DC.

Are waitlist acceptances binding beyond the $900? I haven't even heard from all my schools yet.

Re: American University 2011 Applicants
hey guys. I'm on the waitlist and am curious as to how many of you are planning on paying sticker at American? I put down $$ at Loyola Chicago (I'm from Chicago but live in DC now) and am wondering if it is worth paying full sticker at American vs ~$30k/yr at Loyola Chicago. I know I'm playing a what if game here but it would take a bunch of resounding "YES!"s here for me to say yes to AU if they called me tomorrow.

AU is nice, but not worth the debt for p-t.

Does anybody know if there is a Facebook page for American Law for the incoming class yet? If so, can you provide the link. Thanks.

Call Tuesday offering admittance and giving me 24 hours to deposit if I said I was interested.

Put in my money today after being waitlisted at GW.
I'm tempted to just pull off my waitlists because I really like WCL and I'm planning to study PI law. I also really want to do the MPP.
Basically the same story here. Received the email Monday evening, and the call early Wednesday morning. 160/3.75/non URM.

Anyone who submitted a LOCI, did you receive any kind of response telling you the letter was received and added to your file? I called after both mailing and e-mailing my LOCI and was told to just assume it was added...

Yes with in two days or so. But they want it via email. They have gone paperless. Call the admit office and ask who you should contact to submit this material.

You submit it to your admissions counselor. The aforementioned response is normal.
I always assumed our"file" was the recycle bin.

Just gave them a call, it looks like they have a new admissions counselor handling L-Z last names who just started and is a little behind in the e-mails. They did say they received my letter though, so I guess it's just a waiting game...

2 questions, 1) has anyone been let in from the waitlist to the FT program or just PT? 2) is everyone hearing that they are off the waitlist on a Monday or is it any day of the week?
Thanks.
Thanks.

When I recieved my call offering a spot in the part time program, I asked about the full time program just for the hell of it. I was told that there had been no movement, and that they were unsure as to when there would be any, if at all. Helpful, right?
Also, my call came in bright and early on a Wednesday morning. I had recieved the email mentioned previously in this thread earlier that week, and I responded immediately. Best of luck!
