That's what I'm thinking.oxford_don wrote:I'm 10/29 complete. Don't think its a bad sign because I have pretty good numbers for GULC. They probably just haven't gotten to our batch of applications. I haven't seen anyone (besides maybe ED) getting decisions who submitted after 10/20ish.123xalady wrote:Same here- though I'm less convinced that it's not a bad sign.Sentry wrote:I'm still 10/29 complete. so if your completion date is updated and you don't receive an email, this is a good sign?

It seems that many people who have received acceptances had a few status changes before their final status and receiving their letter. Don't get too excited just yetTrustMeI'mAnActress wrote:so if your completion date is updated and you don't receive an email, this is a good sign?

Just received an e-mail saying that the Committee on Admissions has decided to postpone my decision until January (applied RD, application was complete as of 10/21). This is my first post on TLS...anyone here have experience with this sort of thing?

That sounds like a wait list, but I don't know for sure.Polybius wrote:Just received an e-mail saying that the Committee on Admissions has decided to postpone my decision until January (applied RD, application was complete as of 10/21). They haven't given the guy a decision, just deferred his decision until January when all of the wait list notifications start coming out.oxford_don wrote:More like a hold. Aren't holds usually for updated transcripts, test scores, etc...?
Poly - check out the decision dates for Gtown in the graph below. Its clear you aren't in the initial wave of denials, but by deferring your decision until January it seems more likely that you MIGHT be wait listed.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
I think some schools have holds where they notify candidates early in on the cycle that they won't be making a decision until later (generally because they don't know what to do with your application until they get a better sense of this years applicant pool). You may very well get waitisted in January, but you can also get accepted/rejected. A quick look at their website didn't turn up anything on holds, but that is my general understanding of the term in the admissions process.bdubs wrote:They haven't given the guy a decision, just deferred his decision until January when all of the wait list notifications start coming out.oxford_don wrote:More like a hold. Re: GULC Waiting Thread

Hey! I didn't want to make a new thread for this, but I wanted to remind everyone to either create or update their LSN/Admissions Dean profiles. It's a little break from checking status checkers obsessively, and it's easier to get all the dates correct now rather than going back at the end and trying to remember. LSN has been such an immense help to me (and I'm sure all of you, as well) so I'd like to make sure we're giving the next cycles our useful information.
Also, if you're concerned about privacy (I am!) you can keep your information private while the cycle is ongoing. I am keeping my profile on "hidden" throughout the cycle but updating it regularly, then once I've made final decisions, I'll open it up.
Anddd, I'm posting this in all the waiting threads, so don't get annoyed if you see it more than once.

It means they're scrutinizing our apps as we speak (er type). I suddenly wish the process were far more opaque.Sentry wrote:10/29-11/11. What does this mean?123xalady wrote:ahh 10/29 - 11/11. Any other 10/29ers update?

I assume there haven't been any rejection notifications, only positive? Does someone have the graph?
