If not a $120,000 scholarship recipient or, at least, an in-state admittee, I wonder if anyone would feel comfortable attending at full, or near full, out-of-state tuition.

I wouldn't, but I probably wouldn't attend any school at $40k/yr (maybe with the exception of HYS - and probably not S, but just because of the location (I think I'm the only one who doesn't like the bay area))

FWIW I am primarily considering IUB because of the $ they threw at me.

This. I just applied on a whim, expecting not to even consider it, and now it's one of my top two.

Maybe those people whose only options are considerably worse. This is part of why I think their strategic is brilliant... if you'd admitting people purely for their GPA, then you can go ahead and admit someone with a 3.9/156 who doesn't have many other good options. I'd think a person like that would attend at full cost. Especially since that person would probably have to pay full cost at a T2 anyway...

I only applied because I heard they were throwing money out to splitters. Now Im pretty sure I am going to attend. With my numbers the chances of getting a similar offer at a similar school are slim to none.

Looks like IU-B is changing their game plan for the rest of the cycle.

Sorry for all the waitlists. :( :(
I am very confused about their game plan. :? So strange. Just high gpas from now on?

Also, I visited this weekend and I really liked it. I'll post some pictures later, but there is now a 99.9999% chance I'll be in B-Town this fall. :D

I have already fully committed to IUB, and I have yet to visit bloomington. However, from from I have heard from everyone, I do not regret this decision.

I got an email on Friday saying I was accepted and the packet is coming.

time to decide if 50k in debt and a degree from Indiana ≥ 170k debt and a degree from GWU

I second this. FWIW I withdrew from GW as soon as I found out they weren't giving out much $. Their COA is crazy high :|

That seems like a strange case. My numbers are only better than his by .05 GPA (assuming honesty on his profile), but he got rejected by W&L (whereas I got in with $31k/year) and waitlisted at IUB (where I received the $40k/year many ITT also received). My results seem typical for my numbers. Maybe a little extra boost that I thought came from my WE, but that person also has WE.

I'm going to guess... C&F issues, based on the W&L rejection. Because they're big on their honor code there, it seems they're pretty unforgiving of C&F issues. I don't think this is necessarily a sign of a new trend for IUB, fellow 166ers. There's still hope! :)

I'm 166/3.47 and I'm in-state. I had them wait for my Feb score (which turned out to be the same). Do you think I'll still have a strong shot at acceptance/ $$$?

I think you have a good shot; esp since you're in-state.

Why is everyone on here thinking that they're going for GPA's now? Is there additional information other than the two WLs on LSN (One of which being a 2.4 GPA)?

I submitted super late, and called earlier to check the status. Response: "looks like you just went complete recently (I am yet to receive that email), but go ahead and give us a call in a week if you haven't received a decision!"

Interesting, yet encouraging response.

Do you have any info other than the 1 WL that shows that they are looking for high GPAs instead of high LSATs?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
