Congrats to those accepted. I'm new to the SMU thread, I applied around 1/18 and went complete on 1/26. Judging from a brief scanning of this thread, it seems that SMU has only recently started handing out acceptances. Is this correct? In addition, is SMU only admitting people who applied very early at the moment, or have some December/January folks also been getting decisions?

I applied to the part time program if that makes any difference.

dude, i'm sorry but that was dumb. It's like you were saying, "i'm settling for you SMU. I'm not good enough for UT, andI'm not hard working enough fro baylor, so I guess that makes you #1(even though i'd rather go a bunch of other places than you.) i don't know your numbers and they may admit you anyway, but if i were an adcomm I'd probably be offended. Good luck though, I hope you get in and enjoy SMU.

Someone called earlier today and was told it'd be in the Admit packet and we should get it next week, which is awesome because in the past, scholly info came like a month and a half later.

Can I ask those of you who applied for both how you structured #13 on the application? Writing the PS is ok, but I'm trying to figure out how to work in the evening part so it doesn't look like I just slapped on the page.
My reason for studying law doesn't really have anything to do with why I want to attend their evening program.

Also, I had checked earlier in the day after others reported a decision, and it still said "complete." I just checked back, and I was admitted.

I was thinking that, too. But like you said, good news is good news. I will be much more forgiving if the scholly info is in the admit pack rather than coming separately and in March.

Aww thanks. I'm still keeping hope alive for a eventual acceptance from SMU, I'm just bummed because now I need to go visit a bunch of other schools just in case SMU doesn't pan out. So them changing their admissions practices this year totally put a huge wrench in my plans. It's ok though, I got an acceptance at UF right after I found out about SMU today so I'm not as heart broken
