I think we'll see JS2's trickle in on a weekly basis in smaller but more frequent waves until wait lists occur.a.sleepyhead wrote:Feelings as to whether/when we'll see a JS2 wave this week?

Look, I'm not trying to draw the ire of anyone who is in post-JS1 limbo. But I am just trying to get an interview at this point. It's cold in these streets.

Seems like you should advance all the schools based on their USNWR rankings....Quest4Knowledge wrote:I'm thinking of sending the following attachment as a LOCI to Harvard. Thoughts?
You have Michigan and UVA going relatively far, but it looks like Stanford loses in the first round...

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Just did a quick glance through LSN, and it looks like out of that sample, only three applicants with an above median LSAT have been rejected (two 174s and the 180/3.9 applicant that was discussed earlier ITT). As one of the >175 / <3.5 applicants that hasn't heard anything at all since applying more than 5 months ago, are they just waiting to reject me until they firm up their median and 75th? It's frustrating going so long without hearing anything

In a pretty similar boat as you. Figure that I should start sacrificing chickens for a waitlist instead of a rejection.SlothManProphecy wrote:Just did a quick glance through LSN, and it looks like out of that sample, only three applicants with an above median LSAT have been rejected (two 174s and the 180/3.9 applicant that was discussed earlier ITT). I hear you, friends.
JS1 or not, waiting sucks. At the start of the cycle I never thought waiting on schools would be as bad as waiting for my LSAT score........I was wrong. It seems like they have just started to look back for people to interview, so there could be very good news for you guys soon. The waitlist has traditionally been very active as well, and many people haven't been interviewed until they were placed there.

Maybe it was just because I took my first LSAT well in advance of applying to law school, but I didn't consider the wait to be anything like this wait for decisions. I was anxious to know how I did, obviously, and it was made worse by the fact that my scores were delayed by Sandy, but only the last week of waiting was unpleasant. Worst case scenario, if my scores weren't to my liking, I would've started preparing to take the text again in a few months.potterdam wrote:At least with the LSAT you knew when you'd get your score by. With schools, there's no knowing when any communication will happen, which I think makes it so much worse, since there's renewed hope each day.drawstring wrote:I hear you, friends.

Law school decisions affect where you'll be for three years (or four, if you opt to reapply next cycle), and the waits can be interminable. Harvard's had me on a back burner since late November, and I don't think I'll hear anything from them for another two weeks at the earliest. I'd take comfortable, boring standardized testing over this admissions process any day.

Agreed. Similarly with the LSAT, we were the only ones who had control over our score. With admissions, there are SO many other factors at play, it's hard not to get anxious. Only a few more weeks!
