Sugar coating always perturbs me. If I'm so great and amazing why didn't you choose me
Yeah, but what other way is there to do it? (Not a rhetorical question. As a thought experiment, what would you write if you were in charge of drafting ding letters/emails?)

Personally I would def add a line like "[insert person who's v successful and preferably famous today] was also denied admission to HLS in the fall/spring of [year], and she/he has truly found a rewarding path through both the legal academy — at [other gr8 law school] and profession — at [Bigshot & Fancypants LLC]."
I would just prefer something like 'We cannot select you for admission. Good luck and consider reapplying". The sugar coating (or at least the extreme sugar coating) seems disingenuous and cringe-worthy to me.

tbh i wouldn't even care what's in that letter. A ding is a ding. Nothing will make me feel better about it. :(

Wow congrats! Some nice news on a dark day.

Before I was just avoiding my e-mail because I was scared of a ding, but now I'm just going to be constantly refreshing it...

Let's engage in wild speculation and say yes and that a mini JS1 wave is forthcoming.
