I've read that this can make for a decent LSAT addendum topic. Some people just don't do well in standardized testing situations. If you can show them that you consistently score mediocre on standardized tests, but still consistently perform well despite the fact (grades in high school, your 4.0 GPA), you can present that to them in an addendum to try to show that your LSAT score is not and has not been indicative of your ability.Integrity wrote:Thanks guys. I'm a 4.0/158. I have prepped for the LSAT like no other. Beginning with the SSAT with boarding school, the PSAT sophomore year, and the SAT junior AND senior year...I've never had much luck beyond average scores. Not saying I cannot bump up, but my 158 was a considerable bump. I guess it would have to have some major reverse splitter love, or I better pull a Hail Mary LSAT day-- I will put forth my best effort!

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
you could probably ask the law school for data on medians for vandy ugs at attending vandy law. i know for cornell the medians of cornell ugs is lower than the medians for the whole school.leckj wrote:does anyone know the influence of vandy ug on acceptance?
comparing my #s to some vandy UGs on LSN and wondering...

DR 1/12. Got waitlist in the mail yesterday. I applied only because I got a fee waiver, and with current acceptances, probably would not consider Vandy, even with a decent scholarship.

Finally got the waitlist from the DM 1/12 group even though I live one hour away. Really stings but will try and do everything possible to get off of the waitlist.

167 and 3.63 GPA, good interview and good PS (according to the Emory people), but I think I'm bound for the waitlist nonetheless. Keeping my fingers crossed though, Vandy's my top choice.SHARK WEEK! wrote:Yep. I went DM 1/19 today. What are your stats if you don't mind? I'm at the median for LSAT and slightly under the median for GPA. I did not interview, but I wrote what I hope is a very strong PS. I also have a couple of softs that I think are better than average, but who knows what that means.GWdawg wrote:DR 1/19, anyone else?

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
Hm. Last year, the majority of decisions in late January were WLs if I'm not mistaken. I feel like this could be our case. Still, I'm holding out optimism that Vandy "mixes" it up and that some of us are acceptances, some WLs, (and no rejections!).GWdawg wrote:167 and 3.63 GPA, good interview and good PS (according to the Emory people), but I think I'm bound for the waitlist nonetheless. Robin, are you a URM by chance?robin600 wrote:Holy shit, if I get a WL I'm gonna pee my pants!!!! 163/3.65 DR 1/19.
This really looks like a mixed batch, but so far there is some quasi-splitter action. Interesting. Does Vandy have the reputation of admitting many splitters?

Out...DR 1/12. Out at GW too, so not a fabulous day. No love for a URM Vandy alum with a HYP masters.

Vanderbilt hates me. I've been complete since 10/17 & had an interview in December, yet no decision.

Nope not a URM, but I am non-trad. Mixed batch acceptances and WL or WL rejections? I'm praying for a WL! Good sign, bad?SHARK WEEK! wrote:Robin, are you a URM by chance?robin600 wrote:Holy shit, if I get a WL I'm gonna pee my pants!!!! 163/3.65 DR 1/19.

Vanderbilt and WUSTL are in a conspiracy together, taking forever, I've been complete since 9/24 there. Maybe it's your interviewer, call and ask the admissions office if they have the form from him/her or not just to see.misslawyer2013 wrote:Vanderbilt hates me. Re: Vanderbilt 2013
Thank you! I actually did submit an LSAT addendum with my application materials. The only schools who gave it consideration (I believe) are Minnesota (accepted) and Vanderbilt (waitlisted). I graduated in the top 10% in high school and am top 5% in college. I study earnestly, take prep courses, utilize private tutors, spend ample time preparing, etc. So when I see all of the people on this forum telling me, "Oh, just get a 170, and you'll be fine." I'm like....Uh.............ummmm.....aahhh....! Trust me, I wanted and worked for a 170. That damn test is antithetical to the standard American work ethic. But big congrats to those who do well; I am not upset it opens doors for you, only disappointed I am a Leper because of mine.mxc wrote:I've read that this can make for a decent LSAT addendum topic.
