It appears as though those whose status's changed to "Decision Rendered" prob will get a call today, and the rest of us are gonna be on the outside looking in unfortunately.

Oasis: What is your basis for making an assumption like that? Because one person said their status changed? I'm just curious as to what would make you think something like that...

Its not an an assumption...its just speculation. Frankly if SMU wanted us don't you think they would have done something by now?? Look at LSN and see that clearly after a certain date in late April, every applicant has recieved a waitlist letter pretty much. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that we are all waitlisted at this point barring some unforseen mass change in our collective status checkers

Well I don't know....it seems like this cycle has been pretty weird compared to the past. While I am not expecting to be outright admitted...was just wondering the connection you drew with the status checker...

I spoke with someone from the admissions office the other day, and he mentioned that they had never had this many people accept offers and pay the initial deposit. He expects many people to begin withdrawing after the next 2 deposit dates on May 15 and June 1. I think that everyone should not give up hope; it just seems like they were caught totally off guard this cycle.

I was admitted for PT and told them my name when I called, so I assume it is also for PT admissions (sorry, I didn't ask him to specify).

Ok just called and was told that they are sending out decisions through the end of next week. I was told they were inundated with applications and are running behind schedule...

No just a general response, I did not even ask for any info regarding my app. since my status checker has still not changed.

It's not like they haven't had plenty of time to work on these applications. They have a calendar, they knew when April 30th was coming up, and they picked it as their deadline. I hope they can get most of them out today. Maybe I shouldn't be annoyed, but I am. I just want to know!
