I like the way you think! Stay positive

Thank you! I applied the first week of February so my wait hasn't been too long. Vandy is just my number one school (location and ranking mostly). Have you heard back?
Nope- applied mid-January. Good luck to you

2/2 I applied late for every school because a recommender took a long time to come back to me. Therefore fingers crossed I finally make it past a T20 waitlist, but no interview... so...! Good luck yourself!

I also just got mine!! Very pleased to see the amount I got. I went from thinking a decision and waitlist was going to take forever, to acceptance and decent size scholly within just a few days haha

I'm at 11 and still waiting on this and NW. It's hard to wait considering some deposits are due on Friday but I can't afford to withdraw if this is an opportunity I'm granted

11 weeks here as well. And ditto on the deposits, I've just accepted the fact that I'll probably lose a couple hundred bucks by paying somewhere and then withdrawing.

Emory has a "deposit reimbursement" if you deposit at another school that has a deadline before they do and ultimately decide to enroll at Emory. If you do deposit elsewhere, get accepted and go to Vanderbilt, and therefore lose your deposit elsewhere, I would write a letter asking to be reimbursed for the lost deposit. You could reason that you were given no other choice due to admissions taking more than the estimated 12 weeks. I'd definitely ask the other school if you could get your deposit back first (I've heard of it happening and can't hurt to ask).
All in all, schools want you as a student more than you need them. Its generally in their best interest to keep you happy as you decide to enroll.

Week 16 and 17 without hearing anything?! This is depressing me. I'm week 11 and getting antsy. Probably going to lay off the status checker for while then. I was hoping to hear by the end of this week since most of my deposits for other schools are due April 15, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm curious as to what takes the decision process so long considering it is a score you can't look into (LSAT), gpa with transcript, and a 2 page essay

^ Preach.
If it helps anyone who is still waiting - getting the notification of a decision letter emailed is even worse.
Especially when the email never actually shows up. When I emailed the admissions team about it they assured me the email (and another follow up) was sent to my inbox, and asked me to check my spam and let them know.
When I responded stating that I had recieved no email... radio silence.
That's cool Vandy, that's cool. I didn't want to know anyway.

Ahh I am getting shivers by thinking of having papercuts between my fingers >.< I think I would opt for more waiting than that lol

Just got the email without having to succumb to papercuts. All is forgiven, Vanderbilt, thank you for loving me.

Hey guys, I'm pranking a friend for April Fools and any help would be much appreciated!
Basically its a "cat meow contest"...just call him up and meow. I did this last year with a chewbacca roar contest and it was a huge success!

Apologies for being so off topic but I figured everyone could use a laugh.

^^^^^ Speaking of which, here's a text conversation (from a while ago, but I just ran across the screenshot I took) about my Vandy scholarship application. Note: I ended up making the adult choice and cutting this line. But I wasn't happy about it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
