No, but I'm curious to see how this works. I was sent to FR, but I literally said in my essay that I can't go to Berkeley without the BLOS. Do you know if more invites might be extended or is this it for everyone? Like being admitted at this point without the possibility of this scholarship would be pretty soul crushing.AshburtonGrove wrote:Anybody else get the BLOS interview invite? Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I honestly don't know. The interview dates aren't until late February or early March, depending on when they schedule you. Of the two people (myself included) invited, both interview dates are in February. So maybe that means they're leaving space for March interviews? I find it hard to believe they'd select from a relatively small pool, but overall their calendar for the scholarship is a bit rushed so it wouldn't be all that strange.skimmilk wrote:No, but I'm curious to see how this works. Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Interesting, maybe we will hear from more applicants soon on whether or not they were invited. Either way, though, congrats and good luck! Also Berkeley does offer a Harvard exchange program (2 years at Berkeley, final year at Harvard) so its worth considering the full tuition offer, especially considering you can still take a stab at Harvard your third year.AshburtonGrove wrote:I honestly don't know. Since it seems that the Berkeley webpage is now completely changed around, could someone update the first post for this thread? Thinking I may have to PM Gobears for this...

Has anyone been able to check the status checker? It seems to no longer be a functioning page but maybe there is just a new spot for it that I couldn't find thanks!

Admitted Students, has anyone heard back about Scholarships?
Received my acceptance email a couple weeks ago but so far no word about scholarships or any given awards.

Just got my admit packet! WOO!
Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but how do they award financial aid? In my packet, the financial aid section just says "we begin awards in December and January and continue to June".
So, uhh, it's January. If it doesn't give a number in my packet does that mean no scholly?

I'm in almost the same position as you and it's killing me. Is going under FR a good sign or a bad sign? It isn't a great sign, but I think the consensus is that it is better than being waitlisted/rejected straight out. There is still as chance of being accepted. We will have a better idea by the 5th when FR1 decisions are released.pingu_boki wrote:I'm in almost the same position as you and it's killing me. Is going under FR a good sign or a bad sign? I'm UR 12/21, and I've given up trying to sleuth out patterns. I've tried extensively, and there are just too many what ifs since we don't really know what's going on over there. Truthfully, I've resigned myself to the fact that since others in my time frame have been accepted and put into faculty review, but not denied, it doesn't seem like a good sign. However, since there are so many variables, and we don't know the process, all results are inconclusive. Whatever happens, happens.Gracie615 wrote:I never even went FR though... still sitting at UR 11/30.skimmilk wrote:It isn't a great sign, but I think the consensus is that it is better than being waitlisted/rejected straight out.
