So the ice cream they sell on campus has too much fat content to be sold in stores. Who's down?!

Submitted on January 9th.
Does anyone know whether they send interview invites or do you request an interview? I haven't heard anything from them yet.

They tell you if they want to interview you. Took me a couple months to get the invite.PrayFor170 wrote:Submitted on January 9th.

Really hoping Cornell will show me some love. Interviewed on 12/18 and status updates to 12/22 but have just been patiently waiting....

Same, except I probably wouldn't describe myself as patiently waiting. I half expect Siri to give me a reality check any minute that the call/email isn't coming and that I'm wasting my battery for nothing.131377 wrote:Really hoping Cornell will show me some love. I submitted around the same time. I've heard it takes them awhile to send you an interview request, so I'm not super nervous yet, but if March comes around and I don't hear anything I definitely will be.BillClinton Jr wrote:They tell you if they want to interview you. Yeah, mine says congrats. But it might not have changed until later, I wasn't checking.Applesauce11 wrote:Not sure if this has been covered, but does the status checker change when you get a decision?kjm1992 wrote:Just got the call a little bit ago! Also it showed no caller id so look out for that!

Mine changed to congrats the day of, concurrent with the confirmation e-mail that I got a few hours after the call.kjm1992 wrote:Yeah, mine says congrats. Very, very awkward. The questions weren't difficult at all. It's just that the time runs out so quickly. And it's weird looking at yourself on your screen instead of someone else. I don't know... I hope I did well enough.
Sorry to all the dings at waitlists
-What do you do in your leisure time?
-Discuss a failure in your life.
-Describe your ideal law school.
Again, it's not that the questions that are difficult. It's just the format of the interview. There's something about that human element of an interview that allows you to become more conversation and at ease. At least that's how it is for me. It was weird knowing that I was being recorded and will be watched and probably re-watched by the admissions committee. I was overthinking it too much. Just do a lot of the practice sessions to get used to talking to a machine. I did two rounds of the practice, but wish I did a couple more.
-Why Ithaca?
-Why undergrad school
-(Sorry I can't for the life of me remember the last question I received)
Also I second that you practice as much as possible. Honestly I remember the practice questions being more difficult, by the time I had done 2-3 rounds I felt very prepared for the real questions. Just remember to look at the camera and smile when you can (their suggestion more so than mine but it is good advice given how easy it is to come off expressionless when speaking to a computer rather than a person).

Just curious, but is it likely that more acceptances will be released this week? It seemed like today was mostly waitlists/rejections, but some people have reported acceptances and my understanding is acceptances come in waves?

I mostly remember my first question: "what motivates you intrinsically?" I immediately thought "what!? this bs, bizarrely worded question with an awkward, exceptionally happy pre-recorded voice is my first question!?" (the voice was like "what MOtivates you IINNTRIINSICCALLY"). Another one was about my favorite course and I can't remember the rest. It was not an awesome exposition of moi.

Aha, the motivation question was my last question (technically first) I couldn't remember. I think I mentally blocked it out because it was worded so awkwardly.Po$eidon wrote:I mostly remember my first question: "what motivates you intrinsically?" Finished my interview this week - the format wasn't as bad I thought it would be. I thought the practice questions were way weirder than the ones I got.
Good luck to everyone! Hoping to hear soon

I wish these were the questions I was asked... not a fan of the interviewing style. I much prefer talking to human beings.skimmilk wrote:GoogleWasMyIdea wrote:BillClinton Jr wrote:GoogleWasMyIdea wrote:-Favorite book and why
