What's the consensus on Duke's more specific personal statement prompt? In the flexible application it says,
Personal Statement: You will be required to submit a personal statement as an attachment. The statement is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the admissions committee and should include (1) what you think have been your significant personal experiences beyond what may be reflected in your academic transcripts and on your resume, and (2) your personal and career ambitions. There is no required length.
My general PS was a story of personal growth and had nothing to do with personal or career ambitions, so it seems that it would fulfill the first but not the second criterion of this prompt. Should I revise or rewrite mine to account for those details or just submit what I've already written?
Honestly it's up to you, I took advantage of the PS prompt and Optional Essay 1 (especially since Op Es 1 asks for the piece "Why law" and "Why Duke" which I don't discuss in my PS). My career ambitions discussion was perhaps a paragraph at the end of my PS. I think it would valuable to stick to the prompt (or adjust therein) since they do ask for it. It may take a bit more time, but I think it would be beneficial in the end (attentiveness, more direct conversation, etc.). It does say that there is no required length, so you could add a paragraph or two with some reference sentences in the middle so it doesn't look out of place. I think it's worth it if you can make it flow.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

Duke's viewbook is pretty decent, and they jumped a bit in my book. Their JD/LLM in International Law looks legit.

I find this incredibly hard to believe. There are plenty of fine ladies there, especially in Greek.

It seems like everyone is getting tenth-day decisions at this point, so I'm not even checking obsessively anymore!

Some people have gotten weekend decisions, right? My tenth day is this Sunday, so part of me hopes they'll just get it done before the weekend.
I know some people have gotten late Friday night decisions, so maybe the adcomms stay late on Friday to finish up everyone whose tenth days fall over the weekend!

My deadline is Wednesday.

While I disagree with this idea (you missed somebody) there are plenty of attractive UNC-CH and NCSU ladies though, only a short drive away.

I hope so! We should probably let them know that that's our plan so they can accommodate.

Who'd I miss?
Nobody specific that I know. Some of the athletes if nobody else. I just know that I've never been to a campus where I didn't find an attractive female in each place I went (Duke included).

Don't feel too bad. I'm the one that applied thinking he was PT, but didn't actually get a PT invite and am now just waiting because I'm dumb.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
