Hi guys, is it generally a bad sign if my UR date didn't change for the second time?

I am applying to NYU ED (LSAT score below 50th, above 25th + GPA above 75th), and I submitted my application near the end of October and I am still stuck at "under review" as of 11/2/2015. I know it is difficult to get into NYU with my LSAT score being slightly below their 50th, I am hoping to hear a good news!

I wouldn't worry about only one UR date if you submitted at the end of October.

Best of luck!

i dont think this means anything. mylsn gives me a 100% chance of admission (n=21), and i'm stuck on UR1 from late October :)

I have a similar question:

I applied ED on 11/14. My application was complete on 11/15.

I went UR on 11/16. I then had a date change to 11/19.

LSAT - 50%
GPA - 25%

Anyone have any insight into these dates/my chances?

The answer to all question about UR dates is: nobody has any idea what they mean. There is no trend in UR dates that correlates to particular decisions (or at least nobody has discerned one, and people on TLS are pretty tenacious about this stuff).

If I had to put money on it, I'd say you'll be deferred/WL'd purely based on numbers, but who knows?

Keep hearing the email notification on my computer. Wondering if a law school decision, ooorrr another cyber monday deal that I've likely already seen. So far it's only been the latter.

Nobody can predict this, since there's just not enough data about ED applicants. Seems like you're probably on the bubble, though.

Just FYI, NYU doesn't do acceptances via email.
They'll reject/WL you by email, but that won't be today.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but do people think today is a realistic possibility? What time should we give up for today, after 5pm?

Today is a realistic, but unlikely, possibility.
I'm giving up at 4 PM today.

I would imagine that if no one has heard anything or had their status checker updated to DLS by now, then we won't be hearing anything today. It wouldn't make much sense for them to pack first acceptances into the last 2.5 hours of the workday.

They can begin calls starting tomorrow, but DLS can be posted today (likely with a click of a button), no?

I'm assuming these are first DLSes? Based on the psychotic speed with which TSLers check and update TLS on their status checker activity, I'd imagine these are DLSes, not calls? If so, there is still plenty of hope for today

Perfect, thanks! Just went back and creeped on last year's cycle -

Monday: 4pm= people started going DLS and went DLS for several hours (new waves), some had checklists on their status updates about certifications and deposits and so forth but some did not - these proved irrelevant.
Tuesday: morning- first able to log into the admitted students website, a little after noon - people start getting calls, another wave went out later that day!

Keeping fingers and all other body parts crossed for today!

Has there ever been a DLS this early that wasn't an acceptance? When do the first waitlists/rejections usually go out?
I checked the admissions spreadsheets for the last two years and they were all "Accepted" when their decision went out this early.

Rejections seem to start in January and it looks like all all WL decisions go out in April.
Any insight on whether the early DLS/acceptance correlation holds for ED applicants? Assuming not, can't gather much from spreadsheets though.

For once, I'm glad to be stuck at work for hours without a phone. The checking every 5 minutes would be killer haha
