Congrats! You should be feeling lucky indeed but I'm sure your qualifications are good enough that luck didn't have much of a role.JeromeApple wrote:Just got the call!!! Admitted![]()

What happens on these calls? Do they take a while? Why is it that they seem to do so few each day...

No more acceptances for the weekend (according to Twitter). I wonder where earlier completers who have missed the recent sequence of rejection/acceptance waves currently stand. Are we maybes? Since they're still getting files back from FR (see Twitter), are they going to get to us maybes after all FR files are processed? It also looks like the upcoming week is the last week for straight acceptances...? I don't like speculating, but sometimes it calms the nerves...

With you in the early completers' boat. Since today's acceptances seem to be late submits, I'm wondering if they're waiting to see how many more 11 and 12s they will have (based on the outstanding FR files) before making final decisions on their "maybes" (i.e. 11s and possibly us). (The number of 12s will conceivably affect the spots available to accept remaining 11s.) This would make sense given the very mixed decisions early completers received in early/mid April of last year.circuitsfreak wrote:No more acceptances for the weekend (according to Twitter). Or maybe we'll all get WL emails on Monday...

I think this is a pretty good theory: that the 12s, the "slam-dunk" admits, got calls this weekend.ElizabethKB wrote:With you in the early completers' boat. I think beyond that it's hard to tell. What is the process by which they decide which non-12s get in? Is there a group/committee that specifically looks at that? Probably, would be my guess. It's possible that Asha can make those calls based on the feedback in the files, but that seems too centralized.
I think all files that went to FR are out of FR, and now they are in the process of determining the final round of admits from the stack of maybes. I don't think the twitter reference to "files" should be construed as "FR files" - Yale's process is too long and deliberate for FR files to first be returned only the week before admitted students weekend.

Re: Yale c/o 2018 (2014-2015 Applicants)
this makes sense to me. tbh i'm pretty happy with even making it to FR (if it's the case that everyone who is remaining has made it to that point).lawstudent2018 wrote:I think all files that went to FR are out of FR, and now they are in the process of determining the final round of admits from the stack of maybes.
i saw someone saying professors are guided to give 50% 2s, 25% 3s, and 25% 4s (or i could be misremembering)? can anyone share where they read this info?

Has anyone who applied at the extended deadline received a decision yet?

I want to say yes -- or at the least, damned close to it. Scan the past 4 or 5 pages, friend.

I already read through -- it seems that people who have reported on TLS thus far submitted their apps by the official 2/28 deadline and were complete in early March.zhenders wrote:I want to say yes -- or at the least, damned close to it. Scan the past 4 or 5 pages, friend.
ETA: My complete date, as a very last-minute submitter, was mid-March.
