I submitted my interview Friday, it posted as received today. I don't recall the scholarship and FAFSA categories being in my "fees" box before.... Any thoughts? Wishful thinking? Unobservant? Simple update?

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I got a 2BR in Alaris Village which is on the law school side of campus...it is gorgeous and new! It has a shuttle to the school that leaves every hour and half hour and takes about twenty minutes to get to campus. There is a 24 hour fitness center, lounge, and pool. My building is far from the entrance of the apartment complex so it is less busy. There is a dishwasher, w/d hookup, and private bathroom in each bedroom. The closet space is ample.
I will be looking for a roommate who is quiet, clean and responsible. They must also love cats because I have two friendly ones. I will be moving in in mid July, so they can move in around end of July/beginning of August. I have a lot of furniture and supplies because I have lived on my own a lot in the past, so they would only need their bedroom furniture. I have a car, so running errands and going food shopping can be a communal thing. The base rent would be $325, then they would have to pay their half of electric, gas, water, internet, anything else we decide to get (cable? I don't really want it, but this can be discussed)...
I would prefer a lady roomie, but I am open to some feline loving fellas too. As long as you're clean, quiet, responsible, and not passive agressive, I am open to being your roomie!

Wow... just saw the new LST score. That is uhhh not very good news at all. Any chance anyone that plans on going to ASD on Friday can ask about this specifically? That is a huge drop.

From where does LST get their data if not from NALP? The NALP data isn't out yet, right?

Does anyone know the exact number of students who didn't pass the bar? Is that data available anywhere?

Not by graduating class, but does indicate retakers.

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
So basically we know that 19 people failed the NC bar alone (out of 159 that graduated), but we don't know if they ever retook and passed. I wish we had data that shows the percentage of students that took the bar in a particular state and the percentage that passed from there.nickpapagiorgio wrote:--LinkRemoved--cricketlove00 wrote:Does anyone know the exact number of students who didn't pass the bar? EDIT: I also don't have a ton of time today, but I wonder what the percentage of students were out of state from the class of 2011 until the class 2013. I think that would show how important it is to have strong ties to the area.

Honestly, though. How bad do you think it would look if I just send an email and ask about it? They seem pretty open to discussing issues related to my general anxiety.

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
The July 2013 bar was really hard - the BLE was aiming to make the test harder and they (apparently) overshot. The pass rate among retakers for the February exam was a lot higher than usual from what I've been told, which makes sense if they were trying for a correction.nickpapagiorgio wrote:--LinkRemoved--cricketlove00 wrote:Does anyone know the exact number of students who didn't pass the bar? Yeah... I hear you. I am looking at the 2011-13 classes.hailcaesar34 wrote:Ayeeeeecricketlove00 wrote: I'm stressed.
A few things I noticed:
-'12 seems to the one that sticks out most (highest by a lot)
-'13 Rest of Class Score: is about %10 lower than it normally is, these are usually the people who go into something other than law like consulting or something that doesn't require a JD (some people like this option after graduation).
-'13 the "Big Law Score" actually went up
-'13 we know the bar passage dropped a lot, but we shouldn't automatically put these people in with the 18% of the class that is unemployed, as they could easily be in the small percentage that went into the Rest of Class Score.

Dude go for it. I am not sure they will give us an answer we want to hear, but I can't imagine they would have a problem with the question given the investment of law school.cricketlove00 wrote:Honestly, though. EDIT: I also am thinking about creating the WF Law Class of 2017 thread on the Class of 2017 Section of the Forums. What do you guys think about that? I think that would probably be a better place for this discussion, as I am sure some people may rely on this thread simply for the admissions process...

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
From what I learned traveling around most schools up the Atlantic Coast is that every class year at every school is different. The reason that W&M jumped so high in the rating was because they had a dynamo 2012 and 2013 class that fared very well in the job hunt (this I know for a fact). On the contrary, W&L's fall may have had a lot to do, in part, to a class that was just not as good. To summarize, its not simply the school that will determine your placement, its YOU, and how much YOU want it. It looks like the 2013 class just didn't want it as bad. That's my two cents; hope to see everyone in W-S in the fall!

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
The employment stats are odd. There's a wide gap between grads who have bar passage required jobs (113) and those who are totally unemployed (28) in that there are few people in-between (JD preferred, non professional, etc.).
The scary part is that regional peer schools maintained their stats or got better...there's now a pretty big gap between UNC and Wake, for instance.

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Most likely it will fall in the rankings. This shouldn't matter that much, but Wake is a school that always fluctuated in the rankings. Two years ago it was ranked 44 now it is 31 (which is the highest it has ever been). If past employment numbers are any indicator then it is quite possible that Wake falls into the 40s again. I would not put too much thought into the rankings though. Your job prospects out of Wake if you do well will be the same, whether it is ranked 31 or 41. I do not know how to interpret their huge drop in employment, but it seems like this has happened in the past before and Wake was able to pick itself back up.lsfox86 wrote:
