Yeah, these people read thousands of apps in a cycle. If everyone added an extra 1-2 optional essays, that would increase the reading load to a crazy level.jingosaur wrote:I felt like Chicago tries to get the "Why Chicago" out of you when they ask about which student organizations and such you would be interested in. Other than how specific I was in that section from my research (aka advice from Regulus) I didn't write about Why Chicago anywhere.
In terms of optional essays, I think all of them except the Why X essays at yield protect schools are truly optional or not wanted at all.

But...they...they almost all got in, with a few WLs. That can't be right, can it? IS there self selection in terms of who reports going on here?ysjchang wrote:This might answer your question:dempsey6 wrote:Do we have any knowledge on interview success rate (in terms of admission of course lol)?

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
It has to be self selection. Look at the dates they added the data. They are nearly all after they date the received the decision. It seems like mainly the people who were accepted went through the trouble of adding their data. Hopefully the spreadsheets this year will avoid this, since we encouraged people to add their data as soon as they applied, instead of after the fact.IrishJew wrote:But...they...they almost all got in, with a few WLs. Have other people been UR three times as well? My first was in November and I've had two date changes after my interview.

First UR then mine changed right after my interview, and then again a few days later. I think that was pretty common, but I'm not sure.Gary wrote:Have other people been UR three times as well? My first was in November and I've had two date changes after my interview.

Fumbled on words / said the dumbest things ever. I try not to think about it so I can still be hopeful for a JS2. It was my first time skype interviewing so I'll try to skype some friends as practice before the big day.lawschool22 wrote:How'd you blow your JS1?paglababa wrote:I hope to not blow my chicago interview the way I did for Harvard. I interviewed last week. Good luck to everyone who has interviews coming up! Feel free to pm if you have questions. All the questions were covered in this thread and my interview lasted about 15 minutes.

This might be a dumb question but when they say you must schedule your interview within the fourteen day period they don't mean your interview has to be within fourteen days, right? I went to schedule my interview and the earliest day available was the 31st because it said there is no interviewers available on the 28th and 29th.

No, not at all. The soonest I was able to schedule an interview after receiving the request was nearly a month later. Just make sure that sometime in the next fourteen days that you make an appointment to interview.Rangers5 wrote:This might be a dumb question but when they say you must schedule your interview within the fourteen day period they don't mean your interview has to be within fourteen days, right? Does anyone know the twitter handle of UChi? Last year it looks like they gave ppl heads up on when batches were coming out just like NU does.

Is it proper etiquette to send a thank you note after the interview? I don't want to screw up on something so dumb.
