Huh. I didn't realize LSAC was down. Thanks! I wonder why Cornell's still works...
Because Cornell's is actually just an image that never changes.
Just now saw this,

Alright, so I just did a little perusing of last year's thread, and it looks like next week and the following week should be big for Penn decisions. Seems like there were a lot of acceptances along with some YP waitlists and a few dings mixed in with ED2 holds.

Might be a bumpy ride, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

What's the earliest UR2 date out there without a decision yet?

Just when I'd finally wrapped my head around not hearing about anything for a few more weeks and decided not to obsessively check statuses...

Is two pages double-spaced too long for an optional essay?

As the instructions state, you might be better off keeping it to one space double spaced.

ETA: Hope I don't sound conceited.

Yeah, I went a few lines over and was wondering if that was kosher. Looks like I have to do some chopping. Thanks.

No problem. I've always a been a bit of an instruction whore, so anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't want an adcomm to think "Well, he/she can't see that it should be only one page. *ding*" My two cents.

My essay just feels like shit when it's limited to one page. All of my ideas seem so compartmentalized to the point where their meaning is almost completely diminished by space constraints.

I am seriously squirming to get some news after being deferred.

Anyone write a LOCI yet? What should they say, exactly? Because, if I'm being honest about my feelings, mine would read a little like this:

"Yo, Penn.
You crushed my heart into a million little pieces but I'm holding out for you. I'm saving myself. Please take me back. I'm begging. I know you like cookies, so I made you 12 dozen because I like square numbers.

Happy birthday in 127 days. I already bought your present. (hint: it's an engagement ring)

Please love me. Call me. I'm waiting by the phone and I'm willing to take you back with open arms. I sleep with my Penn pamphlets.

callmecallmecallme!
Love,
deferred"

But I can't see that going over too well. Any suggestions for a way to not sound like a stalker when I write this?

Did you get a second date yet? Or is there anyone else out there with a UR2 on 12/24?

There are UR2s later than that, but I think 12/3 was my UR2.

I'm sending a similar LOCI, but I baked them 180 cookies and I'm threatening to cheat on them with other schools.

Submitted yesterday, have a status checker. No optional essays probably means I'm dinged, but oh well, fee waiver.

UR1 on 12/24. Wonder what the likelihood is I hear in the next two weeks during Penn's first big wave.
