Finally dinged, which is both unsurprising and comforting because it really makes my decision about which school to attend easy. Best of luck to everyone!

Almost the exact same numbers as you. Did you get on faculty review?

Dinged 175 slightly below 25th GPA Non URM Hispanic (which probably doesn't matter)

No, I don't think so. I didn't receive an email about anything, and I only stopped checking the status checker about a week and a half ago. I am a very non-traditional applicant with a very strange educational past, so you'll probably have a better shot than I didrigoding wrote:BoyOhBoyle wrote:Dinged as well. 173/3.47. Just noticed something weird. At the top of my status checker, it says "...decided, with regret, not to offer you a place in the Class of 2016." Anyone else have this?? (sorry if i missed this earlier ITT)HouseTargaryen wrote:Same (UR 11/18). But I'm kinda surprised... Also is there any reason to not post exact numbers? I see everyone using percentiles... Is this just a privacy thing or a concern that adcoms are watching?

Re: UC Berkeley c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
My letter reads:
After reviewing thoroughly your application for admission to Berkeley Law School, the Admissions Committee has decided, with regret, not to offer you a place in the Class of 2017.
Our decision was not easy. The majority of our applicants are well-qualified to pursue the study of law, and indeed many of them are qualified to pursue that study at Berkeley. But with more than twenty applicants competing for each place in the class, our choices must be highly selective. Although our review process is thorough, it is also human, fallible, and in part subjective.
You are to be congratulated on your accomplishments, and I hope that you will be admitted at other law schools. If Berkeley Law remains your first choice you may wish to consider applying to transfer at the end of your first year at another ABA-approved law school. Transfer applicants are evaluated primarily on their first-year performance, and we offer advanced standing admission to 40-45 students annually from an applicant pool of approximately 250-300 candidates.
I am sorry that this letter must convey disappointing news. I wish you all the best in your applications to other law schools and in your career. Thank you very much for your interest in Berkeley Law and for entrusting us with your application.
Sincerely,

I'm still UR without an update, so while I don't know what that means, at least I'm alive. Sorry to those getting negative decisions today

Sorry to all the dings. That's a harsh way to end the week
You are all going to get into (or have already been admitted to) some amazing schools, though! Good luck on the rest of your cycles!

175+ / 4.0X
Maybe it's because I didn't tailor my app towards Berkeley at all, but more likely it's because of my completely unimpressive softs. Oh well.

Still UR as of 1/13, so I'm holding out hope for a straight acceptance next week, but with these all these dings (esp. AmericanBeauty's with similar numbers to mine) a FR or WL seems more likely

I'm surprised by so many of the dings. Like seriously. My numbers were far below 25th for both LSAT and GPA and I somehow managed a FR....My condolences to all of you, but honestly it looks like you will get into other amazing schools. Best of luck!
