I had a wonderful call with Dean Richard. She was so sweet and positive, and she literally did not ask me a single question in my "interview." I really think a powerful PS can really work to balance out weaker numbers guys, so don't give up! I'm SO happy right now, good luck you guys, and don't stress the interview!
I got in.
Hahahaha.
Yay, congrats!! Come check in on the UVA Class of 2017 thread.

Holy hell, UVA exploded while I stepped away for the company's holiday party. I want to say congrats to Fiera and to any others that received positive news today. For those of you still waiting, plan for post January 14th for any real surge in responses form UVA. I'm also excited that AR is doing some interviews now, that's a good sign for some progress in application review. I'm glad Gooner stepped in, he's awesome everyone so get to know him well for when you show up on grounds! He knows his stuff!

So how do you think the holidays are going to play into the 15 day ED? Because the ED contract says 15 days and doesn't have any qualifications about holidays.RCO2012 wrote:Holy hell, UVA exploded while I stepped away for the company's holiday party. Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I think UVA will stay within that 15 day window. If your 15th day is 12/25 or New Years I would count on hearing back earlier. There was one instance of a 16th day call and acceptance (also from AR which is not the norm this cycle). No reason to think UVA would not abide by the timeframe if they did not qualify it. If UVA thought they couldn't meet the 15 day timeline, they would have delayed the applicants complete status so that the 15th day falls after the holidays.scotth724 wrote:So how do you think the holidays are going to play into the 15 day ED? had an interview a couple days ago, still no word back from uva. i think the interview went decently well, in my skewed opinion.
should i just be thinking i'll be getting a WL/rejection letter sometime soon?

No. Obviously, I don't have very much info about your app and what not, but length of time between interview and decision has been quite lengthy for many RD applicants. It has no predictive value on the decision. It is very likely that the committee is meeting less and review members are less available this close to the holidays as well. Good luck!!!! I'm sure you will hear relatively soon.glitterfyme wrote:had an interview a couple days ago, still no word back from uva. i think the interview went decently well, in my skewed opinion.

Out of curiosity, what did people wear for their Skype interview (I didn't see any messages in the thread mention that)? Also, how is 'Dugas' pronounced -- is it 'dew'goss'?

Dew-guess. Wear business formal. Whatever you would wear to a firm interview.randomperson7 wrote:Out of curiosity, what did people wear for their Skype interview (I didn't see any messages in the thread mention that)? Also, how is 'Dugas' pronounced -- is it 'dew'goss'?

I did mine on the phone but if I did it over skype I would wear a dark suit, light colored shirt and necktie.randomperson7 wrote:Out of curiosity, what did people wear for their Skype interview (I didn't see any messages in the thread mention that)?
