I'm also leaning towards a brief e-mail. They had that spot on the app that was along the lines of: Explain your interest in cornell. I dunno if i feel like regurgitating some of that over again.

I don't think so. At least with UVA ED, a deferral to RD has a good chance of hearing back soon, whereas WLs will probably not see any movement until March.

I hope you're right...still freaking out though. They must have found something on my application that they really didn't like. Hope my other schools don't feel the same way :/

This is shocking to me too. I would guess it was a yield protect move, unless there's something else about your app that really turned them off for some reason.

Would it be too desperate to send two? You could let them know this week something along the lines of "Thank you for continuing to consider my application, I'm definitely still interested, etc." and then send another LOCI in January with updated stats.

ETA: I just feel like "Let us know BY January" means it would probably be unwise to wait until January.

Probably not a bad idea. I mean, what do I have to lose at this point lol

I only had two post completion- complete 10/5, updated 10/19 and then again on 11/6. Third update was the deferral

Thanks... I know. Just feel shitty. I told them they were my first choice, so I'm not sure how else to convince them. :/
