2.9/174
I'm also leaning towards a brief e-mail. They had that spot on the app that was along the lines of: Explain your interest in cornell. I dunno if i feel like regurgitating some of that over again.

I don't think so. At least with UVA ED, a deferral to RD has a good chance of hearing back soon, whereas WLs will probably not see any movement until March.moonman157 wrote:I want to send mine right away. Also, I'm assuming that deferral to Regular Admissions is the same as a waitlist?Dasani7 wrote:Same. When should we send the LOCI? Mid-December?

I hope you're right...still freaking out though. They must have found something on my application that they really didn't like. Hope my other schools don't feel the same way :/alwayssunnyinfl wrote:I don't think so. I had two (last one on 11/6) and then this one.
When is everyone else sending their LOCI?

This is shocking to me too. I would guess it was a yield protect move, unless there's something else about your app that really turned them off for some reason.broadstreet11 wrote:Deferred. 172/3.78...above both 75th%. Kinda shocked. Does Cornell YP?

I'm gonna wait until after I get my semester grades, then send in an updated transcript through LSACDasani7 wrote:I had two (last one on 11/6) and then this one.

Would it be too desperate to send two? You could let them know this week something along the lines of "Thank you for continuing to consider my application, I'm definitely still interested, etc." and then send another LOCI in January with updated stats.moonman157 wrote:I'm gonna wait until after I get my semester grades, then send in an updated transcript through LSACDasani7 wrote:I had two (last one on 11/6) and then this one.

ETA: I just feel like "Let us know BY January" means it would probably be unwise to wait until January.

Probably not a bad idea. I mean, what do I have to lose at this point lolalwayssunnyinfl wrote:Would it be too desperate to send two? Plus, waiting until January so you can send new transcripts might make it look like you're just sending the same LOCI to all schools.

Very true. I am still interested in Cornell, so it couldn't hurt. Thanks for the advice!alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Plus, waiting until January so you can send new transcripts might make it look like you're just sending the same LOCI to all schools.

Also deferred - I suppose it's a better outcome than a WL.

If I'm reading the email right, we won't get a decision until after February 1, the RD deadline? That's brutal.

Sorry to hear about the deferrals. Would you all mind sharing when you went complete, if you haven't already?

If I count the deferral date, I had 4 updates. I went complete on 10/1.

Thanks... I know. Just feel shitty. I told them they were my first choice, so I'm not sure how else to convince them. :/elterrible78 wrote:Really really sorry. But deferred is not rejected...keep the faith.iMisto wrote:Deferred.
