173/3.8+ URM

Maybe I should have written the optional essay. :|
Bummer. Well, on the bright side, you should be in for a great cycle with those numbers! And like other posters have said, lots of the priority reserve candidates end up getting in with LOCIs. So don't fret too much. Good luck!
+1 - I'd be willing to bet that a well-written LOCI will get you in for sure.
Honestly, I think I'll just withdraw. I'm already in at a T10, so I don't think I'd realistically be considering Duke by the time they start pulling from the waitlist.

Good luck to everyone else!

Congratulations! Hopefully you're going out to celebrate.

It is kind of crazy that they work on RD applications on Saturday.

Congrats Smokey!

In other news, finally got my acceptance package today :) Was worth the wait. Handwritten note was nice too (referenced something on my resume / something I suspect one of my recommenders may have mentioned).

Fan of the little notebook too, though not sure what I'll use it for...

Did anyone with ED hear from Duke yet? I thought Duke would be looking at ED before RD.

Exciting! When did you get accepted? Do you only get the acceptance package now if you opt out of the scholarship stuff? I was accepted on 11/22 but haven't received the package yet.

You don't have to opt out of scholarship stuff- the package just takes a while to arrive. Mine was sitting happily in my mailbox ~2 weeks after my acceptance email.

You should hear soon. If I recall, last year ED decisions went out around the 10th.

Got a nomination to the Mordecai full-tuition scholarship (http://www.law.duke.edu/admis/mordecai) Does anyone know how many people are offered this and how many actually visit campus and jostle for this?

Past threads aren't too informative.

I wonder how long Duke will take with RD applicants who are under review. I know PT's received a decision in 10 days.. that would be nice

YES. I went under review today too.

Anybody know how long it will take to hear back? I'd love to know by Christmas...

It looks like the only RD admits Duke has taken so far are those who meet the hard 170 LSAT floor for PT but who for some reason didn't receive PT. As a 169-er with an above 75th GPA, the huge difference in treatment is beginning to turn me off.

Tiago and I both went UR 10/31 and we are both well over 170, although Tiago is a splitter and I did my UG overseas, so I'm guessing there must be a GPA floor as well. I hate to be pessimistic, but I think it's likely that most or all of us are getting WLed.

At first I was a little annoyed RD decisions took so long, now I am just desperate.

Here's to hoping we just haven't met the cut-offs and so they haven't glanced at our clearly awesome applications yet. I don't think it's time to give up hope quite yet...

I was RD. Applied end of Oct. Went UR twice - first UR date was about three weeks after I sent, second one was a week after that - and I got in via email two days after my second UR date update.

Congrats! Did you respond to the scholarship information form previously or did they just contact you?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
