Re: Vanderbilt 2011
I'm almost positive that there were people who called FedEx and were told that there was no delivery scheduled who still ended up getting the FedEx acceptance. Also, someone pointed out earlier that last cycle at some point they switched to USPS for acceptances too.Kabuo wrote:Complete since 11/22. Decision mailed 1/31. That's good info on the USPS, thanks. I think I'll just not call. I'd rather just be pleasantly surprised. I doubt anyone is getting a package or letter to me through the inch of ice on the road anyway.

I think it's actually pretty common for FedEx to say that they don't have a record of any packages being shipped to your address, even if you got in. It happened to me this week, and I remember seeing posts about it happening to other people earlier ITT.
Basically you won't know for sure whether or not you got in until you get a letter or, hopefully, a very heavy FedEx box!

FedEx could not tell me whether there was a package coming my way, and I still got one (albeit a day late because of weather).
Best not to even call, I'd say. Won't necessarily be definitive...no need to introduce added torture to the wait.

What do you mean they "could not tell?" I called and gave them my address (my only address for law schools). It seems like a really simple way to tell and I highly doubt the computer wouldn't show a package on the way if there is one. The person seemed very confident. Again, I hope I'm wrong or that the USPS rumor is true, but I don't think I am.ChuckSchick wrote:FedEx could not tell me whether there was a package coming my way, and I still got one (albeit a day late because of weather).

Gave them my address, said they didn't see any packages. They kept asking me for a tracking number, as that is their usual means of tracking packages.Top14Hope wrote:What do you mean they "could not tell?" Who knows, perhaps I just had an incompetent Fed Ex employee, but I dont think I'm the only one who had no package on record who eventually got one.

Decision mailed 1/31. When can I expect to receive it in Los Angeles? This whole "storm" concept doesn't register with me... lifelong Angelino.

The time it takes for your decision to arrive usually depends on the decision. Admits are usually FedEx (though someone mentioned that last year it switched to regular mail after a while?) and WL/ding are usually regular mail.

Re: Vanderbilt 2011
Just got my acceptance package from Vandy. Complete early/mid-December, didn't do an interview. LSAT in range, GPA above 75%, really strong softs.
Really nice acceptance package- one of the better ones that I've seen. Now I'm just waiting for $$... Vandy's biggest selling point for me is that my partner really wants to live in Nashville because he wants to be a rockstar haha.
Good luck to those still waiting!

Submitted a Why Vandy and LSAT explanation (162 --> 169) today. My Why Vandy is basically about how Vanderbilt has a business law program, a transactions journal, and high placement into biglaw so that I could eventually transition to an in-house position for a big Southern company. We'll see how far that gets me.

No, we don't. We have a Law Review, a Journal of Entertainment and Technology, and a Journal of TransNATIONAL law. Read closer.
