so, if you have heard absolutely nothing at any point... and submitted before the deadline... safe to assume a ding and its in the mail? since they say they promise decisions by May 1st and all.

you think they're dragging on us because we are just that useless that it doesn't matter when we get put on reserve ...or should we dare to speculate?

No idea, but it's game day! One way or another we'll know by 5pm.

quite possible they torture us by either: 1) emailing us Monday, May SECOND; or, 2) they put our notice in the USPS today, the last working day of April.... and we wait for the snail mail to arrive after a week, if we're lucky ....

haha, thats funny, i finally got a smartphone like a month ago because how much email-watching this process has required made me fully realize the benefits...

well, they are only snail mailing rejections, so if we dont get an email today we will know our fate--i don't really see them breaking their word and waiting until monday.

Exactly my thought. If I don't hear today, I assume I'm rejected.

whoa.. didn't realize so many people were still waiting! annoying that they have so many people holding on until the last second. i wonder why. if only the admissions process was more transparent. bleh.

to be completely honest... i kind of feel like they are just going to continue sending decisions through next week. there seem to be SO many people left that haven't gotten their decisions... and it doesn't seem like Columbia's style to send out decisions in bulk.

maybe i'm totally wrong though.

Yea, they use the "every attempt is made to send out a decision to all applicants by the end of April" line on their website, but I always took it just to mean that some people would be wait-listed and have to wait until after April. Plus I e-mailed them last week and they said that they would continue releasing decisions "through the end of April."

But you may be right... I wouldn't put anything past them at this point (No hard feelings, Columbia ) Plus I was pretty confidant I that I would get a reserve (and nothing more), but it has yet to arrive...

That's what I heard but I guess that's not the case, no emails or post so far for me! I assume they won't be sending decisions on a Saturday?

I got a handwritten note with my reserve letter as well and I know there is at least one other person, but I'm also curious to see if this is the done thing at Columbia.

I'm a forgotten Columbia candidate...is is worth it to send out an LOCI at this point? My gut feeling tell me no, because the mostly likely scenario is that a snail mail rejection has not yet found its way to my mailbox.

still havn't heard anything... assuming a rejection is headed my way, though i'm kind of surprised i wasn't waitlisted. also a urm with strong numbers posted on lsn last night that they were still waiting, weird...
