js1 = interview, js2 = acceptance, there's a good explanation in the original post at the beginning of this theadgobosox wrote:This may be a stupid question, but what is a JS1 and JS2? I understand it is some type of interview, but can someone explain it to me and what it all generally means?
(edit: scooped by tea! hi tea! haven't seen you around as much since you got me hooked on synchro back in 2013)

So the fact that I haven't gotten one and haven't gotten rejected yet, despite an October application means?
Note: I am deployed right now with the Navy and noted it on my application, so it would be hard to conduct an interview, but I said in my application I would figure out a way to do it in a port.

i think not having heard back yet could really still mean anything. i don't think it's a great sign, but it means you still have a chance.

Anyways, will we get into Harvard today? Probably not, but who the hell knows!

I feel quite strongly there will be a ding wave today.a.sleepyhead wrote:So, we're thinking ding wave tomorrow maybe?

I agree. The last ding wave was two weeks ago, Friday Feb 28th IIRC (the wave of 171 rejections), seems like its time.barrelofmonkeys wrote:I feel quite strongly there will be a ding wave today.a.sleepyhead wrote:So, we're thinking ding wave tomorrow maybe?

Ugh it's very confusing with JWP and bom sharing the same tar.

I am secretly wishing for a big ding wave though. There are two options for me: 1) I get dinged and I can stop stressing about Harvard and readjust my law school expectations, or b) I don't get dinged and get a nice little boost because I feel like my chances have improved (although I'm still just betting on a WL at this point, but still)

so I had my interview, and they said they would have final words before April... not sure if this was already known/if this is just a formal comment, but yeah...

This might be a weird question, but can anyone share the subject line in an e-mail for a JS1? Also what about a Reject?

just to clarify, you mean a decision (admit/waitlist/reject) before April 1st?esther0123 wrote:so I had my interview, and they said they would have final words before April... not sure if this was already known/if this is just a formal comment, but yeah...

I've heard this from other people, too.jasper09 wrote:just to clarify, you mean a decision (admit/waitlist/reject) before April 1st?esther0123 wrote:so I had my interview, and they said they would have final words before April... not sure if this was already known/if this is just a formal comment, but yeah...also, did they say whether that was just in your case or in all applicants' cases?
I keep thinking it means Harvard is actually doing holds this year and will let us know on April 1st

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Well they said they're trying to finish all decisions (not sure about waitlist/held but at least some form of decision post-interview) within three weeks and just said I should expect to hear back before April 1st. So I assume it applies to everyone as I interpreted it as HLS wanting to finalize their 2017 class before April.jasper09 wrote:just to clarify, you mean a decision (admit/waitlist/reject) before April 1st?esther0123 wrote:so I had my interview, and they said they would have final words before April... not sure if this was already known/if this is just a formal comment, but yeah...also, did they say whether that was just in your case or in all applicants' cases?
Then again, I've had job interviews and they always ended with "you'll hear back within 2 weeks" and sometimes I don't hear back for a month.
Did anyone else hear of some "deadline" by which they would notify you during your interview?

Definitely did not hear about any sort of deadline during my interview, although that was in January.
