Any stats on Harvards transfer policy? Ive heard mixed reviews on whether or not 0L info is taken into account.

Bracing for the worst....

From what I have read about Harvard's transfer policy, they say that they take your undergraduate transcript into account but that there isn't a whole lot of evidence to actually back this up based on their previous decisions. It appears to go almost entirely off of law school transcripts, although I'm sure strong softs/LORs help. Again, just from what I have read, they accept about 20-40 transfer students each year, but you pretty much have to be in the top 1% of your class if you attend a law school outside of the T14 and at least in the top 5% of your class if you attend a T14 law school, but that it is still mostly those in the top 1% that are accepted even from T14 schools.

Unfortunately, I think this is probably right. If not next, probably soon. It's been a while.

Malcolm Gladwell's recent book, David and Goliath, is not very good/convincing overall, but he does make one point that keeps nagging at me. He discusses the German bombardment of London and how it actually emboldened the residents of London, rather than sending them into a panic as the government had predicted. A NY Times reviewer describes it as a "survivor exhilaration." Gladwell describes the survivors as "remote misses" because they experienced the bombardment, but were not personally wounded or traumatized by it, and they feel invincible as a result. Unfortunately, I think surviving the last four big LSN-reported ding waves has turned me into a remote miss hahaha.

It's just crazy to think that whatever the outcome, we'll know within the next 30 days.

Is this actually guaranteed? Also, wait listed candidates definitely won't have a final decision by mid-April.

I'm not sure I view it as that, but I apologize if I sound overly negative. I just don't really see the point in proclaiming (optimistically or foolishly) that there will be movement today, day after day, and then going into a tizzy when, predictably, the theory doesn't hold water.

I understand that people are commiserating, but on a certain level, doesn't it just produce more anxiety to build up hope for a decision, the timing of which none of us have any control, only to be disappointed?

I also woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. It's freezing here.

I think thats just the nature of the thread its as much a support system as a think tank really. I sympathize with your preference for concreteness, but I dont think thats realistic. #thezeitgeististoostrong
