Re: Columbia 2011!
Sorry in advance if this question has already been asked! I got my reserve letter a few days ago, but just read it thoroughly this morning...the dean wrote a note at the bottom of the letter that seems a bit personal, but could theoretically be some kind of weird stamp designed to make me think I have a shot of getting off the waitlist. So, was there a note at the end of every letter?
Thanks, guys!!

Re: Columbia 2011!
I'm overseas at the moment and cannot check snail mail. I haven't heard anything since applying in Feb. Does Columbia accept, reject, and waitlist by email?

Re: Columbia 2011!
received my rejection letter in the mail last night. Applied on the deadline and wasn't complete until a few days later. SUre it didn't help me much. The pattern I do notice however... rejections in the mail and reserve/acceptances via email..
Good Luck to you all.

no, I didn't get a letter; it was a note written at the end of the emailed reserve letter...

Ah, I didn't even read that. Thanks for the heads up, otherwise I wouldn't have found that response form to withdraw. No special note for me...hopefully that is a good sign for you!onetime1 wrote:no, I didn't get a letter; it was a note written at the end of the emailed reserve letter...I only got an email. Thanks, guys! This is my second time applying, and my second time with a CLS waitlist, so I'm not holding out too much hope... good luck to those staying on reserveExcellence = a Habit wrote:Ditto, no note for me! Re: Columbia 2011!
I'm sorry if this was made clear already -- people are certain they have to be hearing today because in their held letter it said that they would receive final notice today? Because my deferral letter from ED said that I will hear back in April, but didn't specify a date, it is still possible that I could hear back sometime next week instead of today, correct?

Re: Columbia 2011!
When I called two days ago, the lady told me "We'll be making decisions through the end of April." I told her, "Even if it said 'By April 22nd' on the hold letter?" She told me, "If your letter says April 22nd, you'll receive a decision by then." Sure enough, got WLed that afternoon.TLSNYC wrote:I'm sorry if this was made clear already -- people are certain they have to be hearing today because in their held letter it said that they would receive final notice today? I'm assuming the rest of the applicants who didn't get that letter may very well likely still be getting decisions into next week. If you look at LSN from last year, that was the case.

What is the logic of Held->Ding?

Not quite sure I understand your question.BrightLine wrote:What is the logic of Held->Ding?
If we look at this year's decisions (hold decisions, especially) from Columbia, they've been a little bit unpredictable from the standpoint of GPA/LSAT alone.
Then again, many more people with qualifying LSAT/GPA combinations apply to Columbia than they have space for, so perhaps that was why many with high numbers were held-->WL/rejected. Nothing to be surprised about.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
