+1. Since I was held on 2/2 and haven't received an email yet, I'm expecting a rejection letter in the mail soon.ilovemulch wrote:yeah only thing is they haven't yet (to my knowledge) emailed dings (only snailmail)...though I don't think any held people have been dinged...but now I'm getting worried that us leftover holds are awaiting dings :/

Re: Columbia 2011!
MAYBE since they've kept us waiting soooooo long, they know it will take more than an email to sway us in their direction b/c of our great annoyance, so they're sending VCEs instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaebeth wrote:+1. I'm tempted to call and find out if a decision has been sent...

Re: Columbia 2011!
Well, I'm afraid that since I told them I have a scholarship deadline and have to withdraw from all other schools, they moved me from the reserve pile to the reject pile. It's only rational.ilovemulch wrote:MAYBE since they've kept us waiting soooooo long, they know it will take more than an email to sway us in their direction b/c of our great annoyance, so they're sending VCEs instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaebeth wrote:+1. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from this point on last year, all decisions were WLs and rejections. Infer what you will.
edit: I got that from skimming LSN. Also, last year, WLs/rejections came in a steady stream on a daily basis, just the way it's going now.

Re: Columbia 2011!
The last wave of acceptances from Columbia came in late March, which is also in line with what happened last year. It seems like they haven't changed their ways drastically.cbp3443 wrote:BOO!jrose5 wrote:Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from this point on last year, all decisions were WLs and rejections. They said that the hold list is being used differently this year, but thus far I don't see any real differences between this year's cycle and last year's. I hope I'm proven wrong.

What's the deal with the ED bumped to RD people? I just want to have this finalized so i can go ahead and deposit elsewhere. Have any other people in this situation heard something from Columbia?

I think we're pretty much expected to wait in line with everybody else at this point. I'm sure we'll hear soon about putting onto the reserve list, just like everyone else.Tommyloff wrote:What's the deal with the ED bumped to RD people? Yeah, that person should not have been deferred in the first place.wiseguy33 wrote:One kid got in. Check the Columbia ED thread. Re: Columbia 2011!
You guys are going to hate me.
Applied 10/25
Complete 11/2
Held 3/23
Reserved 4/20 4:23PM EST
Admissions index: 4.58 (PM for numbers)
I kind of want to stay on the WL for maximum snarkiness should they finally accept me.

Reserve here too. Held on 2/2. Did not follow up on the hold but had sent an updated transcript with fall grades about a week prior to the hold. I will be telling them I don't want to stay on the list. Like, right now.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Applied late Jan
Held late March
Reserved by email today.
I knew this was coming, in part because of my stats and in part because I didn't send them any additional materials (LOCI, LORs) or "work" Columbia connections after I was held. I'm withdrawing the WL. Good luck to those staying on it! I'm going to deposit elsewhere very soon and remain on only one WL. So my cycle is virtually over. YAY!!
