thought about it... but ended up deciding that it probably won't matter.

I called a few days ago questioning whether I should send one or not. The guy said that I could send one and add it to my file, but the way he made it sound was that they don't really want you to.

I just called and asked the same question. The woman told me she'd investigate and call me back. I'll report back when I can.

I just noticed on UWs website that the admissions statistics are now for those who applied in 2009. My range looks more depressing than it did before...I'm praying that I am in the few that are the accepted.

And I agree, I would pay sticker to go there as well

Yeah, I wouldn't do that unless you get waitlisted.

If you look at last year, there are a number of acceptances in the last few days of March though.
I hope I go blank soon. I check my status pretty much every hour on the hour.
Ugh, looks like it was all rejects in that 2nd/3rd week with mixed results towards the end of the month.
On the LSN site for last year's class, it looks more like both answers occurred each week throughout Jan.-Mar. The first-fourth weeks indicated both accepted and rejected, which means today's batch doesn't absolutely mean rejected.

I don't know how UW views this gesture; however, I know of a person that sent one before they even went into review and I think it may have helped her, not sure. Just make sure they haven't reached a decision on your app before it actually goes out (happened to me at Mich.). Didn't matter there, was dinged. Go with your gut re: chances of getting in.

Sorry for those of you still waiting. Hope you all hear something positive soon.

Did any other admitted students get a mail today about the scholarship application? I was under the impression that Washington offers little to no scholarships. I'm going to fill this out, but considering that I'm not a resident or qualify for any of the checked boxes, I don't want to get my hopes up.

Yes, I received this as well. Not sure what to write in the requested email "blurb" about myself. I think most of the scholarships are need-based anyway.

I went blank last Monday and got my letter in the mail on Wednesday (though I live in WA). So I imagine you should know by the end of this week.
Good Luck!!!

I just spent some time working on this blurb. It's kind of weird to write...mine sort of sounds like another personal statement. I'm not sure if I should be more direct about answering the questions on the sheet.

Does the status checker stay blank ever since, or just went blank for a while?

Yep, I got it yesterday. I think I'll take some time out of my "busy" schedule at work to day to write the financial need statement and send in the form.
